The island is great for day tours, you have time to visit almost all of it. If you're only there for 3-4h, I usually keep to the northern part. Climb up to the lighthouse, go check on the sleeping dragon, pay my regards to the Englishmen on my way down to Bönsäcken, maybe bathe a little there, throw some rocks in the see, and walk back to the village for a well deserved ice-cream.
It's often better weather on Hanö than on the Mainland, always funny to be in the sun and see the clouds just flying by.
Where Hanö becomes truly great is, if you have the opportunity to stay over, after the last ferry has left. Being "stuck" on Hanö on a warm sunny evening is so great and relaxing.

This is the worlds biggest ceramic Fountain made from around 3000 pieces of ceramic. It was established in 1971 by the artist Gunnar Nylund. It pictures two goose neck lizards (Scanisaurus) sun bathing.
The little town of Bromolla on the shores of Lake Ivo started off as town where the workers for the Ivo ceramic works lived. What it has to offer is nature, Forests, nice cycle routes, and, more than anything else, the lovely, clean & fresh...MoreIt truly is a beautiful Fountain. Glad you enjoyed a visit to it :)

The boulders in Kjugekull nature park are delivering Northern Europes best bouldering experience. There are over 1000 obstacles and the landscape is very beautiful with lush Forests and scenic views over hills and lakes.
If it is your first time climbing you can rent a guide for appx 500 kr per person.

The salmon fishing in Morrum has historic traditions! Today Morrum is visited by anglers from every corner of the world. They come here hoping to catch one of the extremely well developed salmon or sea trout that are our hallmark. The wild salmonoids here make Morrums fishing unique. Aside from the fishing, we can offer restaurants, accommodation, conference, exhibition and more!
Kronolaxfiskeanläggningen i Mörrum är väl värt ett besök, vi hade tur att få se en jättestor lax stå stilla i strömmen, en syn som inte var väntad och minnet kommer att finnas med i fotosamlingen länge framöver.

The Science Center for the whole family! Kreativum in Karlshamn is the science centre for inquisitive people of all ages – the perfect destination for the whole family, all year round. The unique discovery zones in the Upptäckartorg stimulate your curiosity, giving you the chance to try out over 100 different experiments. During the summer, we also open our Kreapark, an oasis on the bank of the Mieån river that makes an ideal picnic and play area. And when you start getting peckish, we recommend a break in our very own café Kreaficum. Make sure you also visit the Kreaffären, the ingenious store selling masses of clever things that you might not find anywhere else.
Vacation and the rain is porig down, What to do? Visit this Scince Center and you can easily kill a few hours. A lot of interesting things to explore. There's loads of "how does it work" wish gives you an "aha" sense. Really interesting for both young and old. You can also take a break and enjoy coffe, Icecream, and lite lunch. When entering you receive a lot of info and all stations have info to check, would though like to have some employees to ask about this you wonder about.
The dome theatre is really worth a visit. Shows a lot of different science and nature films.

The naturum Vattenriket visitor centre, on the banks of the River Helge å, just west of Kristianstad railway station, is a natural starting point when visiting Vattenriket. Here you find Exhibitions, guided tours and all the information you need. When you have visited the exhibition at Naturum Vattenriket and replenished your energy levels in the restaurant, you should take the time to explore the biosphere reserve. You can either make your own way to some of our 20 visitor sites, or book a guided tour on the water or on land. Our staff in reception will be pleased to offer tips and advice about excursions.
A lovely spot, which has become a fixture in the everyday life of locals - and rightly so. Great for kids, but a little lacking in in-depth info. Very little information in English or other languages for tourists- but still worth a visit.
If you're lucky you will see the local otters.

The kings of the Creteaceous Ocean (the marina reptiles) has their own house where their story is told. This is an exhibition where the fossile treasures is presented. There's also possiblities to book a guided tour of the Havsdrakarnas Hus and Dinosaur hunt at the Asen Field Station.
You normally visit this if your train is delayed (next to the station), otherwise not a place to travel.- Hallo SeenMany ! House of the Seadragons is as you have noticed a very small exhibition based on local fossils. We hope på expand in the future. Anyhow, thaks for your input. Best Regards // Filip.

Reminds us of the hard times of old Sweden, then we had to go "over there" to find happiness .... Nothing fancy, but nice walks in the nearby parks and hamnområdet.

From the outside Bäckaskogs slott looks very impressive, but unfortunately it's nicer from the outside than inside. Having said that, the breakfast room and other public rooms are rather nice, but the actual rooms vary in quality. Some are OK although a bit dated, while others are quite ghastly but in size and interior. Beware of this if you book a room at Bäckaskogs castle.
