Sagunto Castle and Theatre

If you have spare time you may enjoy Sagunto Castle. Whilst the climb is not easy with many stairs the view over Sagunto and surrounding area is interesting. I
Unfortunately the theatre was being packed up as the season was over. It would be an amazing venue.
We were lucky to be in the town on a Wednesday so checked out the markets. Sandals were cheap and a large variety!
The fruit was fantastic, very cheap and very fresh.

The museum is free and has some wonderful examples of Greek, Roman and Moorish structures/columns/friezes etc.
Also some miniature bronze figurines dating back more than 2000 years. Ancient fish hooks, nails, house utensils made out of bones and clay pieces which show life in a very different time.
Some cementary/funeral engravings and sculptures.
A cool place to stop for 40 mins. or so.

Horno Alto. Patrimonio Industrial Visitable

After the storming to the Jewish quarter of Valencia in 1391, the aljama of Sagunto took over for the Valencian one, becoming the most important of the Kingdom. Sagunto is not only the Spanish city where better preserves the layout of its ancient Jewish quarter but which also has more remains of objects, as well as spaces or buildings that day were part of the daily life of this minority community.
