Welcome to the Museum of Fire We are a not for profit, registered charity and a true community museum. As Australia's leading Fire Museum & Fire Collectibles Shop with over 30 years experience, we pride ourselves on quality and service. Many of us at the Museum are Firefighters. All profits raised go to educating our families to the dangers of fire and preserving the heritage of the communities bravest. Group bookings welcome. You will not be disappointed with your visit, there is something for all the family. Wishing you were a firefighter, enjoying the machinery, showing your respect, reliving past experiences, understanding fire as a friend or foe, visiting with friends or made to visit with the relatives, educating or entertaining the kids, for whatever reason you will enjoy your visit. There is something for everyone, we look forward to seeing you soon.
We went to the museum with a volunteer firefighter from Europe who was fascinated to see all aspects of the history of firefighting in NSW, both volunteer and paid brigades were represented, with lovingly restored trucks and equipment as well as static and audio displays. An education centre is also incorporated with the museum. Well done to all the volunteers involved in setting up this facility.

Not far from Penrith, the Rock Lookout is in the historic Mulgoa Valley. For superb views of the Nepean River simply follow the short track 200m to the Rock Lookout.
Quick break for an outing and a picnic. If you want to getaway for a few hours and take in the seclusion and serenity this is an easy place to get to. Packed a picnic lunch and headed out........
Travel along Mulgoa road toward Wallacia and turn down Fairlight road. There is about five k's of sealed road then two or three k's of dirt rough road but not that bad. Go to the end and there is parking.
It is a short hike to the rock and other tracks where you can take in the view and relax. We found a great spot with a little extra exploring for a secluded picnic lunch and veged out for a few hours.
As usual the inconciderate few people who don't know how to take their rubbish with them spoil this beautiful country and those that wish to deface and vandalize postings and nature ruin it for others to take in the natural beauty, for those of you who do this stay home and live in your own filth.
Top spot otherwise.

We came here rafting and I had more fun that I did rafting down a real river in the Austrian Tyrol. There is pleanty of excitement and great for team building. The instructiors were very helpful and ensured everyone understood all the rules. We also had young children and family who came to watch, there was pleanty of shade and a cafe to sit at.

The gallery has continual Exhibitions which are must when you check into eat! The cafe has always provided great food, I have normally been there for brunch, you can sit out on the lawn area or under cover. They cater well for children and it has all the proper assisted facilities. There is always something interesting to look at and the Historic property itself is worth checking out.

This week long regatta offers the spectator some great racing viewed either from the grandstand or from the bank on the other side which has plenty of shady trees

This might sound wrong but never really thought a ought the aboriginal culture other than what you see on the TV,
But I'm glad I came here it was an exceptional time and really made me think about other cultures, I may be from a different country but I now have an appreciation for this way of life to see there art and culture, what can I say other than wow, this is a place that should not be missed especially if you are a visitor to Australia

Very, very interesting. The talks were very informative. I thought is was amazing & loved our visit. To see the machinery still working was awesome, hard to imagine after using a computer & how quick that is, compared to how long it must have taken all those years ago. I would recommend a visit for any age group. Kids of today would do well taking a visit to see just how mush work went into printing all those years ago. Quite an eye opener. Thank you again guys.

Go-Shu might look like a small place! but it's well worth a visit and you are only a phone call away from a guided tour, video presentation and tasting! Sake products and other skin care products made from rice can be purchased here. I would recommend that this place would appeal to those over 18. Tours can be arranged and there is only a very nominal fee which includes a tasting of the sake products made on the premises/

My first visit to this new market which opened in April 2016 was pleasantly surprising. Set on Thornton Green a few minutes walk from Penrith railway station this market had a distinct community feel to it. Stall holders were genuinely friendly and offered a unique and varied collection of items for sale. With a small offering of food and coffee vans and a children's park nearby, all the family had a great morning out.
This is certainly something much needed in the Penrith area, although quite small at present I can imagine this growing to be a fabulous attraction - well worth a visit. I will certainly be returning.
Held on the third Sunday each month, easy to reach by train. in a relatively new area, the best way to reach by car is to use Coreen Avenue off either Northern Road or Castlereagh Road and turn down Sydney Smith Drive. Parking on site or in local streets
