It is a small library, in a renovated church. It has fantastic view, best in Cunda. Can easily walk from the center in 10 minutes seeing all the beautiful greek houses. There is also a very nice cafe where you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea. Thank you to Koc foundation for preserving this important cultural landmark.

Samimi, sıcak ortamı ile ilk gidişinizde bile çok tanıdık gelen Ayvalık'ın nadide mekanı. Sabahın ilk ışıklarına kadar devam eden muhabbet.. Kesinlikle tavsiye ediyorum.

There's nothing wrong with this beach per se but it's nothing special. It can be a bit grubby off-season. If all you want calm water for swimming then it's fine but if you're looking for beauty this isn't the place to go.

We drove around the island of Cunda and decided to continue along this very narrow dirt road, in which you could not turn back and there was no way for two cars to pass in opposite directions. We kept driving further away from the town and onto the olive tree groves overlooking the blue Aegean sea. I thought I was in paradise! Could it be possible there was no place to stay and lounge comfortably to enjoy this luxury? The first two beach clubs were crowded and dirty. Other one we went into was new and nice, but we were looking for something special. And 5 more minutes down the road we found it!! There it was!! The Mola beach Club. I could not believe my eyes.
On a very simple and old stone house (among a small group of old stone houses), this boutique hotel in downtown Cunda built a beautiful garden, a small deck Terrace restaurant and an even more beautiful wooden dock, where you can lounge on sleek deck loungers or dive into the blue Aegean. The beach is small and narrow but beautiful. It is all small, narrow, secluded and a dream.
We walked in and after a few minutes were met by a very cold lady who told us they were fully booked for the day. She was quite disagreeable, but fair enough, we had not made a reservation. We left, very sad (actually I was very sad, my boyfriend was angry and decided he would not come back again given the bouncer treatment the lady had given us - he's Turkish so he expects everyone in Turkey to be welcoming).
Not ready to give up, the next day I went online, found a telephone number and called, again they were fully booked, but I made a reservation for the following day. I even asked what time they opened, they said 11, so we could be there early to get a nice lounge chair (the chairs are set in a 4 to 5 chair per row arrangement so that if you are in the 4th or 5th row let's say, you do not get to see much of the splendid seaview). The price was reasonable and we were all set.
The next day we started off joyfully (I was joyful, my boyfriend reluctant but as always ready to accompany me in my ventures). We got there early enough, lots of chairs were empty. Apparently there was a power cut (or perhaps there were no power lines, come to think of it), as we could hear a power generator working as we went in. We walked into the garden and almost into the kitchen and were again met by the mean faced lady with the cold demeanor (who never told us her name or greeted us properly on either occasion). She summarily told my partner (in Turkish, although she had been speaking to me in English 2 seconds ago), that we could only choose any of the 3 rows of lounge chairs that were behind the house (no seaview), and right next to the generator that had been working until a moment ago. She had spoken so quickly and directly to him as if I was not there, and I had been so distracted by her attitude that I did not pay enough attention to understand exactly what she was saying (I do have a basic understanding of Turkish). My boyfriend turned around and said let's go. On the way out as he was explaining the situation to me, I (foolishly) decide to turn back and insist. I could not believe I was to be denied paradise having made a reservation 2-3 days in advance.
So I walked back and in English, asked her: how is this possible? all these beautiful lounge chairs with a seaview are empty and look available. Yes, but they have already been reserved she said. But I also reserved, 2 days ago, I said. Well, she said, those 2 chairs were reserved 3 days ago. I was feeling like this was becoming a rather foolish conversation. Yet once again I insisted, but how is this possible? We came here the other day and could not stay, so we took care to make a reservation in advance, and nobody told me when I called to make the reservation for the day, that we also had to reserve a lounge chair. She started babbling something about her hotel guests. And I was stupid enough to say: i understand, you have hotel guests and you save the best places for them. I was still trying to be civilized, while a voice inside me said: but I came all this way, early, on the last day of my not very long holiday, wasted my whole morning, and it is hot, oh, so hot! And I work really hard the rest of the year to have these few days to enjoy, and made a plan to spend my last day in this beautiful island on this paradise and now you have ruined my plans without even looking sorry or uttering one sound of regret or compassion!
It is 40 degrees by now and I am standing in the sun, silent. Needless to say, by this time my boyfriend is on his way to the parking lot, which is about 100 meters away from the house as the streets are very narrow among this group of old stone houses. Finally, I start walking out too. I was giving up on my day in paradise. As my anger finally starts to surface, I walk back, and courteous as ever tell her: We are leaving, I am not happy here. Not a blink from her. As you wish, she said. Twice.
And to think she works in the hospitality industry. I hope their hotel services are better than their beach club services for non hotel guests. Somehow, I don't think I will ever find out.
PS: we ended up spending a beautiful day on a nearby beach which was more crowded and not so aesthetically beautiful, but where we were greeted with a welcoming smile and everyone was happy to cater to our needs.

Rent our boat - enjoy your holiday, charter our pivate exclusive Gulet in Cunda island. We would like to invite you on our Gulet (boat) in Cunda, to share our experience and to give you an unforgettable memory.
