Marang Market

Reviewed By Dingoh - Coffs Harbour, Australia

Staying in Marang for a few days, I experienced the markets twice. Both markets were different.
On Saturday morning, limited food stalls and quite a number of stalls set up in the centre of town near the central bazaar. There were some food stalls and quite a lot selling different clothing items in different areas off the street and car park areas. The street was still open to traffic while this market was in progress.
On Sunday afternoon, a smaller market was set up, however this time the market was primarily food, most of which looked delicious and fresh. The street was closed to all vehicular traffic for this market. There was some clothing on sale, however this one was primarily food and was well patronised by locals.
Both of these markets appeared to be primarily geared towards locals rather than tourists which was wonderful.
Both markets are an entertaining way to spend some time. The Sunday evening foodie one was particularly pleasant. I dont however know if these markets are on every week.

Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque

Average looking mosque, but it does look to be 'floating' from a distance. Fishes can be fed around the lagoon. Mughal architecture can be seen within the mosque. There's a 'hop on' bus available at specific timings for a fee. Shops selling refreshments nearby. No public transportation.
