As with many churches in Mexico, the architecture is incredible. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go inside but I thoroughly enjoyed marveling at it from the outside both day and night.

A bit light for the world traveler but locally informative. Open, airy and easy stroll thru some local history. Includes reproductions of many classical sculptures, at first out of context but increasingly intriguing as thousands of miles of travel are reduced to several steps.

This is in the historic downtown district. A nice place to walk, a small row of local crafts such as handmade clothes, scarves, lotions, candies. A few nice bars with outside patios along this route. Can walk a few blocks between here and the Plaza Principal, to see the main sights of Leon. Worth seeing both If you are in this city!

Mexico's most people are catholic, specially at geographic states at center of Mexican Republic, like Jalisco, Zacatecas, Queretaro and Guanajuato. You can enter to the building all days. You only need respect the ceremonies inside. The building was started at 1764, established Cathedral at 1866. The principal figure is "Madre Santísima de la Luz". Besides the beautiful interior you can know the Museum of Sacred Art. The pope Benedict XVI was in this building at March 25th, 2012.

Although it has been open the public for some years now, there is always a part of Altacia under construction. Parking spots in the shade are not very many, other than that great parking. Good store variety and restaurants to choose. Usually there are expositions and/or shows at the mall, too.

Teatro del Bicentenario is a performing arts theatre where the audience can enjoy different artistic expressions such as ballet, contemporary dance, Concerts, theatre, circus arts and opera. In fact, with the new and diverse types that the performing arts have acquired over the years, practically everything that can take place on a stage is suitable to be appreciated in this venue, which its artistic programming works as a great festival throughout the year. A premise governs the different aspects that here congregate, a profound care for the quality of the Performances and for surprising the audience every time the curtain rises.

As others have said this is a very busy area with lots and lots of shops selling mostly the same kind of thing or mass produced and relatively low quality leather goods rather than anything handcrafted and/or high quality. I bough s leather jacket which was pretty cheap (less than £30) but it's functional rather than anything special. Worth a visit but don't expect to find anything special
