Stolby National Park

Strangely shaped cliffs lure locals and tourists to this popular park, which offers hiking and a wonderful retreat from the city.

Stolby Park is a quiet and beautiful place, and it is nice to get away from the polluted air in Krasnojarsk. We took bus 37 (a ticket can be bought on board for 22 rubels) which took us to "funpark", a kind of fair for kids, where you can also take a ski lift to get to the entrance of the stolby park. We paid 270 rubles per person for a ticket. Once you're up, you have a nice view of the town and the river. We started our walk there and followed the yellow line. The trees along the way are marked with yellow paint, so you can't get lost. It takes a while before you see the first rocks. You should consider the walk is quite long, so take enough to eat and drink. If you follow the yellow path, it will lead you to another exit/entrance. If you continue walking, you will eventually arrive at a street, not far from a bus station. Bus 50 comes every 30 minutes (as late as 22.15 and 22.45) and takes you back to the city center. You need at least half a day for this approximately 15 km walk between the rocks (stolbys) but it is worth it!

With the directions given by the owners of the guest house we were staying at, we went to Bobrovy Log by bus and spent a nice afternoon there. There are good options of summer activities such as the roedelbahn - a downhill forest roller coaster - and the cable car ride that takes you to the top of the Mountains, from where you can have a good view of the city and the woods.

Krasnoyarsk Regional Local Lore Museum

Explore ethnic cultures, ancient civilizations and other topics relating to Siberia's history at this recently renewed and expanded museum, originally founded in 1889.

Reviewed By withpanamahaton

You should go there for the costumes of indigenous people and the atmosphere of a museum that is partly stuck in the past itself. Tells the history of the region but without mentioning anything controversial in the relations between Russian settlers and the natives of this region or Krasnoyarsk's role as a hub in the Gulag system and earlier deportations during the tsars.

The whole reason for the visit to this city was the geocache in this square. It didn't dissappoint, a lovely square with benches to rest ones tired feet. I should imagine in winter it would not be so inviting to sit for too long :)
