You will find this fortified settlement just up behind Kardamyli-follow the signs from the main road at the far end of the village by the bridge. An easy 10 minute walk takes you to the entrance ( 2E per person). You can climb up inside a tower house as part of your visit to this small place of interest, there are information boards and great views.

It took a bit of work to find this place, but the previous reviewers helped us a lot. We drove down and had no problem parking, but then it is mid-October. There were about ten people there midday, including some happy families having fun. The beach is rocky but not too bad for sitting and walking. Our Crocs sandals helped, even in the water, which was perfectly clear and warm enough even this late in the season. A delight.

We run mosaic and ceramic courses on a daily basis from as little as 4 hours for beginners to week-long affairs for the more ambitious. Or just come and visit our studio and have a look at the projects we are working on. We also have art for sale.
We stayed at the Olive Grove so we had the perfect opportunity to try the beginners half day mosaic course which was run by Marie. It was a fun afternoon and made such a change from sightseeing or lying on the beach. We both ended up with a unique souvenir to take home with us. The afternoon was fun, informative and friendly. For a completely different holiday activity try this. We have now bought the tools recommended by Marie and hope to start a new relaxing hobby at home.

After visiting the old Kardamyli complex you should walk up the nice kalderimi (old traditional stone path) to the small church of Agia Sophia. What you will enjoy is the very beautiful views, almost all the way, of Kardamyli. Taking your camera is a must. It is a very easy ascend even for small children (from 5 years old). It takes almost 30' the way to the church with the magnificent view. If you like to walk further you can continue to the paths after the church. I suggest to buy the "Anavasi" walking maps from the local shops.

The hike offers exceptional views over the mountain, river and and sea.
You need sturdy shoes. The walk is medium difficult.
The tour begins in the mountain village of Tseria, from where you descend 800 m to the upper part of the Viros Gorge. From there you continue on the opposite, southern of the gorge to the villages of Chora and Exochori. Then you return to the gorge to a monastery.
From there, you continue westward, downward to Kardamili or return to the starting point through Pedino.

Browsed around here when visiting Kardamyli one evening and found perfect small gifts for my Grand-daughters which were just that little bit different than what I'd seen elsewhere - easy to find as on the main through road and nice, friendly service.

If you are a fan of Paddy, you are in for a real treat in a visit to this beautifully-situated house. This is a great privilege as you are allowed to wander round the house that still contains many of his personal effects, books, work desk, photos, letters, etc. It is great that the museum has obtained funding to conserve this place and enable fans to visit. The house is open on Thursday at 5pm and Saturdays at 11am-full details are published on the website. The house is situated just outside Kardamyli where you take a right hand turn off the main road soon after leaving the town heading South towards Stoupa. The road to the house is a short track which ends at the beach where you can park and walk up to the house.

This is a great little bar that we noticed on our second visit to Kardamyli but only visited on our third visit. The sound of the jazz music from inside (not live though it was during the jazz festival) is what caught our attraction plus the small tables with people sitting outside once it got dark.
There is a lovely ambience to this place and the cocktails are gorgeous (definitely recommend the apple martini). I loved the fact that when my partner ordered a mojito we saw one of the staff pick the mint for it from outside a side door.
Super friendly and totally chilled. Definitely recommend.

This tiny shop contains a wealth of fun and original items to take home. Tees, art, jewelry, and other Greek-made items with fresh, modern and playful style. The owner also hosts art shows in her gallery space upstairs. She's delightful to talk with.
As an artist, I was impressed with the original design I saw in several shops around the Peloponnese. To Lokalee is like a distillation of the best.
Strongly recommended!
