Great place plenty of room to enjoy scuba diving experience: good locker room, showers, material care (cleansing, etc.). It also has a lounge bar sometimes with music live.

Gredas de Bolnuevo

Great natural phenomenon, rocks are great shapes and forms. I can see why they were used as a Star Trek location. It has an other worldly feel about it. Huge car park too, so that's not a worry either. It's also free and there's a lovely bar across the road.

Torre de Santa Elena

Reviewed By NormaJulie - Newport, United Kingdom

Well worth the effort as the views from start to finish are spectacular. Best achieved in the cooler seasons and definitely not in full sun. There are seats at regular intervals so you can meander and enjoy the exercise.
It's used by walkers, cyclists and I have seen mobile scooters but it's quite steep so this type of transport would have to be powerful.
I was on two sticks.

Playa la Caleta

Reviewed By Fiona K - London, United Kingdom

Playa la Caleta is a very pretty little beach in Isla Plana which is edged with Oleander bushes where the Promenade / paseo skirts along it. The beach often has small boats on the sand. It is accessed by a nice wide paved path and has the picturesque church of Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Carmen on one end and the neighbours Association Social club on the other where you can get drinks and tapas. There are a few other restaurants nearby. Other nearby points of interest are the Banos de Marrana and some Roman ruins on the other side of the church and two very tiny quaint little harbours on the other side of the Social Club. The promanade that connects all these places of interest is also very pretty. Beyond the Banos de Marrana is the larger Isla Plana beach which runs into La Azohia beach. It is definitely worth seeking out this pretty little beach in the unspoiled fishing village of Isla Plana

Playa de Bahia

Reviewed By Paulsmithcasty - Malaga, Spain

This Is a wonderfully large sandy beach with access from a few different points along the main road into bahia de Mazarron. Very busy in peak summer months and very popular with families as access to sea is gently shelving. There are a couple of chiringuitos for drinks and snacks. Some peddle boat hire in peak summer months when lifeguards are also on duty. Now - alot quieter and beach almost deserted in this lovely autumnal sun. Sea still warm enough to swim in. A lovely walk around the bay and along the beach.

The Blues House - Bolnuevo

Reviewed By Brian G - El Puerto de Mazarrón, Murcia, Spain

Live music (not Kareoke backing tracks) on the Terrace (Sundays). Really cold beer and an amazing choice of food makes for a great outing. Not a franchise type burger place, No. Food is home made and is like the quality and quantity you get in a typical American diner in Texas. Easy to run up a 100€ tab for 4 happy diners. Get down there for a great time.

Bateria de Castillitos

Reviewed By marti j - Spain

We went last saturday for a trip to the cannons.
The road to the place is small but safe with beautiful views.
At the location there are not many parking places.
We gave a SUV so we went to an upstairs parking.
The little road to this place need a repair.
A few cars left the spot because there was no space.
The site is nice but from the beginning to the end not one info desk or information board.
A walking road brings you to the cannons and some (new/old?) buildings. It looks if years ago they build something and suddenly the money was gone....
Beautiful views from this place.
No facilities.
No entrance fee

Banos de la Marrana

Reviewed By Fiona K - London, United Kingdom

The Baños de la Marrana is reached by a wooden walkway from the little church Ermita de Nuestra Senora del Carmen. The walkways take you past some remains of Roman Kilns. The Baños de la Marrana are the ruins of disused Thermal baths which were opened to the public 2 May 1901 by Dr Vera but were abandoned sometime in the mid 20th Century. According to 11th and 12th Centry legend a Sow suffering from Rheumatism walked down to the beach where there was a hot spring and rolled in the hot water and was cured. It is quite an interesting landmark and worth a quick look. It is one of the things that make Isla Plana an interesting and unique seaside village.
