This beautiful park contains one of the top three celebrated Gardens in Japan. The name Kenrokuen literally translates to “garden combining six”, referring to the six attributes all Gardens should have: seclusion, antiquity, spaciousness, human ingenuity, water and scenic views.
Even in mid-March, without all the trees in bloom, the Garden was a wonder to behold. We were blessed with a picture-perfect sunny day with calm winds. This made the reflections on the various ponds magical. We wandered the various trails. Even on a Monday, the congregations of visitors told us of important vantage points. There were also plenty of benches to sit on and several shops where treats and coffee/tea could be purchased. Kimono-clad ladies were plentiful and most were more than appreciative of having their photos taken, especially if you offered a group of 2-5 the opportunity to have their photo taken as a group. (Otherwise, it was rotating selfies!) A definite must for any visit to Kanazawa.

We took the city bus (circular route) from JR Station and reached Nata Temple in less than 20 minutes. It was a quiet place with nice water ponds, moss lawns, pagodas, temples and rocky landscapes. We were a bit late to visit here by end of November and majority of the maple leaves turned brown and began to fall. The temple was being part of Shingon section of buddhism and the wooden structures thereat were really worth to watch and admire. The area was quite large with some of the scenic spots on top of rocky mountain, Kamisama Hill, and you could well have nice panoramic views from the observation platform on the opposite side of the hill. Visitors with physical disabilities and elderly were only recommended to walk on ground level to tour around the main temples. Highly recommend visitors to come here by chance they visit Kagaonsen region.

We took a bus from Kagaonsen. It was so lovely strolling the gorge, admiring the handiwork of temples and Bridges. We were the only westerners, in fact there were very few people which was lovely. There are so many beautiful trees and plants, so many greens. Love the Japanese maple. Be sure to visit the 2500 year cypress at the gorge end. It's so stunning

At the beginning I thought these terraced rice fields are so common in Asia so I almost wanted to skip it. But when I am here how they have been creating the contours and viewing spots I am sure these worth all the acclaims. It is another attraction with different views at different seasons of the year. I will come back again at another time. It can get very crowded on the road though so be prepared for traffic and parking problems.

In my opinion, the island is the best tourist attraction of Noto Peninsula. The island aka Warship Island really looks like a warship and pretty impressive. Unfortunately, there is no way to get to the island, although you can get close. There is a restaurant where you can enjoy viewing the island.

Simply Zen gorgeous. Walking to it after alighting from the bus, we walked on a peaceful gravel path through a forested area - part of the vast park next door. The Museum building and surrounding pool will de-stress and amaze you - why don't more buildings look as good as this?

Magical and spectacular museum. Unlike anything I've seen before. The fabulous lanterns and floats of the local festival are beautifully displayed. Don't miss it!!
