I enjoyed the "CUBAN ART NOW" exhibition at Singer Laren. The museum is currently undergoing some construction-work expanding its theater and the sculpture and flower-gardens will be planted by designer Piet Oudolf and opened summer 2018.At the moment of my visit the sculpture Gardens were temporarily covered with lawn to show the ELEFANT PROJECT. I enjoyed seeing the work of contemporary Cuban artists like Jose Emilio Fuentes Fonseca(JEFF),Ibrahim Miranda,Flavio Garciandia,Alejandro Campins and Raul Cordero. There was an exhibition of work for sale by local artists from Laren village as well.

We went here with a group of colleagues to drive to heats. It was my first time at this place. Have to say I really like their track. Its challenging and offers enough possibilities to try to pass people.
I'm less happy with their go karts. There is a clear difference between them which doesn't make it very fair to compete amongst each other. During my second round, I was last in our group of 6 to take off. My cart didn't even move even though it was started. Staff simply closed the starting lane and completely overlooked me while I kept waving at them. Took them a minute or so to realize I was still standing there. Then they restarted the engine and I could take off. By then I was already more than one round behind on the rest. This kart wouldn't go very fast and after two rounds it just completely stopped. I parked it on the side and got pointed to another kart which was equally bad (number 24). My colleague that had been driving this one previous heat experienced the same. All in all I got four rounds less in this heat due to all the trouble with their equipment. Fix this guys, I pay enough money for it.

Your team is locked in a mysterious room. A room with a story. A room with a threat. You've got one hour to escape before terrible things happen... While searching the room, you will find special objects that can be used on your way to freedom. By solving the puzzles and riddles by thinking logically and a good amount of team spirit you can take the next step. While time is ticking away, the room will appear to have lots of hidden secrets. Escape will not be easy...
We had booked our session here about seven months in advance and it was well worth the hassle of trying to work out how to pay without a Netherlands bank account. We arrived quite a bit earlier than our booking time and were made to...MoreThank you for the great review! If possible, could you please remove the part of the 'Dutch style ......', as this might be a spoiler for some people (to already know they will find this).

"The smoke clears and the train stops in the middle of an office building. You are a member of a research team charged to find out how this could have happened. But is everything what it seems?" We are EscapeTales and we want to offer fun and interesting escape experiences to you! Fancy being the hero of your own tale? Come and visit us!
I went there with my husband (we both have some escaperoom experience) and 2 friends (it was their first escaperoom).
The welcome and explanation was fine. I also loved the invitation letter which the staff sent us after booking and which put you already in the story.
Than the room: the scenery is made up very well. The puzzles are different, creative and challenging. We were happy to get some hints!
It was great fun for all of us.
But I would say if you are a beginner, maybe start with an easier room.
If you know the principles of this sort of games, you will love this room!!!
Little negative point, if you are not dutch speaking you have some disadvantage.

Decided to take my wife to the movies one night while seeing family and friends in the Netherlands. Took the VIP treatment (2.50 EURO extra per person) and watched a movie in very comfortable seats, great sound and high quality screen.
The only thing that really annoyed me is the stupid break halfway the movie. Is that really needed?

Escape Room is a unique real-life game in which you and your team get challenged to solve puzzels and to think outside of the box. Goal: escape within the hour from the mysterious room. The game is exciting, surrealistic, intens, magical, logical and exhilarating - all at the same time! Once you've entered the Escape Room you'll lose track of time and reality.
I played there both Laboratory and Meisjeskamer. And there is only one word to describe it which is WOW. Meisjeskamer has the story, riddles, effects and the entourage. It is one of those rooms which is worth travelling for. When you play, you totally loose the feeling of time and live the story.
I would not recommend to start playing escape rooms with this one because it would be difficult to find many rooms of such a high quality))) But it is definitely worth playing!!!!!!
P.S. Also there is a bar and relax area with computer games and other things. It is convenient to sit a while after the game and to discuss it.

Situated in the historical centre of Naarden, this church is well worth a visit.
Walk around it and leet your kids find and count the old cannonballs still lodged in the walls.
And there are a few as well lodged in the inside walls.
probably the most interesting part of the interior is the ceiling.
It features wooden panels that are marvelously decorated.
And to avoid getting neck cramps, they provide portable mirrors, which comfortably allow you to see all the details.
What a great idea. If only all churches etc. in the world with intersting ceilings, would do the same !
Don't restrict your visit to the curch. The mediaeval town centre has a lot more to offer.
The town was built on an island, surrounded with water all around, with huge defensive walls to keep the enemy troops outside. There is a museum in part of these walls that will tell you all about it's historic past.
As an extra benefit, Naarden Vesting (as this part is called) offers a wide choice of excellent restaurants and bars.

"VVV Huizen "tourist info and Huizer Museum" Het Schoutenhuis" share the same white building in the village centre near the local church" Grote Kerk Huizen".
The museum has a room filled with items of clothing in the local costume "Huizer Klederdracht" and upstair I saw an art exhibition combining sculptures from 1900-1930 and contemporary art.
The large recidential village of Huizen has several sandy Beaches on the "Gooimeer"and the village centre has the same charming converted old farmhouses similar to Laren and Blaricum.
I visited the small museum on a bike trip and I would say it is worth a short visit only if you are near to it or have interest in the local costume.

Stichting AAP provides shelter for primates of any kind. I've been a long term financial supporter of this institute and I would highly encourage everyone to consider making a (small) donation. AAP is located at 'De Kemphaan' and you can freely wander around the small public area to see some primates in their play area. Just a few steps away is a restaurant, a biological shop and a small "petting zoo" for children and the area offers options for just strolling around and enjoy a nice sunny walk.
Highly recommended to spend an hour or two when you're in the area. And again, please consider making a small contribution to AAP.

Bussum doesn't boast a cinema, but this place gets close to it with its two rooms. Its is close to the Naarden-Bussum station and to the centre. Tip: reservation recommended, the local audience is rather movie-minded. The program is on the internet or distributed freely in many places in town.
