Baia dei Saraceni

Reviewed By DanielFornaziero - Geneva, Switzerland

This place is absolutely gorgeous, with a secluded beach set against the backdrop of high cliffs. The only problem is that during summer is impossible to park nearby, unless you are willing to overpay for a couple of hours in the parking lot. Apart from that, you may park in the city and walk to the beach through the highway, something we saw a lot of people do but did not have the guts to do it ourselves.

Grotte di Borgio Verezzi

The caves of Borgio Verezzi offer a tourist path that winds for about 800 meters inside large rooms, among huge blocks detached from the vault in remote eras. Very rich concretions of every shape: from the cannulae, thin and almost transparent, to the drapes, thin as sheets, to the large columns that seem to support the vault up to the eccentric stalactites, that defy the gravity force developing in all directions. And everywhere the colors: white, yellow, red in a thousand different shades. Due to the presence of various minerals, they make the Grotte di Borgio Verezzi the most colorful tourist cave in Italy.

Spectacular !!! Driving from Italy to France, we saw the sign and decided to stop. If you are interested in caves, grottos, stalactites this is the place for you. Hard to believe that this isn't a world class location. The tour takes about an hour. About 10-15 minutes from autostrada.

You have the Mediterranean Sea on one side and you drive by it on the cliffy Mountains on a straight road created during Roman time, named under queen Aurelia, goes on till Rome.... Bella Vista

Tia Pepa

Bagni Garibaldi

Centrally located in Finale Ligure. Has all facilities to make your day at the beach comfortable: hot and cold showers, toilette, changing cabin, food and drinks, free wifi, good service, reasonable price (being solo I even got a discount for bed, chair and umbrella combo which was a big plus). Bagni Garibaldi is not as big as some other Beaches around, but I didn't feel that I miss anything and the sea is just the same for everybody. :-)

Chiesa Medioevale Di San Lorenzo

Reviewed By Brun066 - Florence, Italy

A bit of attention is needed to locate the starting point of the path for ancient San Lorenzo church; but then it's quite easy to follow it. The trail begins with a staircase pretty evident, that branches off on the uphill side of the "Via Vecchia [Aurelia]", at the north end of Varigotti.
The church, very simple, with a single nave, is memorable for its antiquity (it was the center of a Benedictine monastic settlement) and for he environmental value of the site where it stands.
But from this point of view the church can be considered also a highlight of the steep and scenic area that lies between Varigotti and Noli; and therefore the greatest appreciation for the church can be gained from the visit of the whole area, you can make continuing the main trail from San Lorenzo towards Noli.
The trail will allow to continue the experience of the church with exciting views of the cliffs that characterize this stretch of coast (so steep as to merit a mention of Dante in his "Divine Comedy"), and the sea below.
The trail is marked along St. Lorenzo stretch by a red "X", later by a circle crossed by a horizontal bar (a similar symbol, in short, that the underground of London).
It's important to know that the return from Noli is easily doable by public bus service (typically, every half hour) that connects Varigotti and Noli both one another, and with Finale, Spotorno and Savona train stations.

Vittoria Beach

Reviewed By DanielFornaziero - Geneva, Switzerland

This is a great mix. Great sea, good service and infrastructure. You can enjoy the cristal clear, warm (and clean) water of the Italian riviera, shower and change into one of the facilities, play table tennis, order some food and drinks and relax in the fully equipped summer chairs. The only problem is that you'll have to pay for any of that. Public Beaches are best enjoyed in the neibouring "free beach".
