Ile Vierge was a perfect spot to pause at the end of a memorable 15-mile walk around the peninsula. Pine trees, blue-green seas and good paths made for a perfect half day walk, with this headland one of the Emerald jewels on the way.

This is a clean and easily accessible beach on the crozon peninsular. It is mainly used by surfers, the surf when we saw it wasn't extreme and looked good for beginners. There is also a campsite nearby.

This is a beautifully organized little museum which presents tons of interesting information about the geology of the region in an attractive way. The highlight which definitely makes it worth the trip is the room of minerals who become fluorescent under ultra-violet lights. It cycles off between the blue light and regular lights. The fluorescent rocks are arranged in such a way to make this experience truly mesmerizing.

Not so easy to reach (you have to walk!), that beach is simply marvellous, especially at Sunset. But be carrefull if you want to swim, water streams may be very strong!

This is on a small island and when my boyfriend and I went the tide was too high and we were not able to cross to the little island to see the fortress. We were a little disappointed.

First, the church itself is very pretty with lovely stained glass, very detailed carvings, and a beautiful pulpit.
The major item of interest is The Altarpiece of the Ten Thousand Martyrs.
The altarpiece depicts one of several similar legends where Roman soldiers who, led by Saint Acacius, converted to Christianity and were crucified on Mount Ararat in Armenia by order of the Roman emperor.
As recorded in the Catholic Encyclopedia, the legend reads: “The emperors Adrian and Anoninus marched at the head of a large army to suppress the revolt of the Gadarenes and the people of the Euphrates region. Finding too strong an opponent, all fled except nine thousand soldiers. After these had been converted to Christ by the voice of an angel they turned upon the enemy and completely routed them. They were then brought to the top of Mount Ararat and instructed in the faith. When the emperors heard of the victory they sent for the converts to join in sacrifices of thanksgiving to the gods. They refused, and the emperors applied to five tributary kings for aid against the rebels. The kings responded to the call, bringing an immense army. The Christians were asked to deny their faith, and, on refusal, were stoned. But the stones rebounded against the assailants, and at this miracle a thousand soldiers joined the confessors. Hereupon the emperors ordered all to be crucified.”
This wood carving depicts various scenes from the capture and crucifixion of the soldiers.

The only problem with this place is that it is too popular. Try going early or late or when it is cloudy. When it is crowded even on the hike there are too many people for my taste. The final scramble to the beach is much easier than it looks at first glance.
