Ciudad Guayana (Spanish pronunciation: [sjuˈðað ɣwaˈʝana]) is a city in Bolívar State, Venezuela. It stretches 40 kilometers along the south bank of the Orinoco river, at the point where it is joined by its main tributary, the Caroní river. The Caroni crosses the city south-north and divides it on its two main halves: the old town of San Félix in the east, and the new town of Puerto Ordaz (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpwerto orˈðas]) in the west. The city was officially founded in 1961 by the unification of this two former settlements, but the history of San Félix goes back to its foundation in 1724. Within the city limits are located the site of Cachamay Falls and Llovizna Falls. There are three bridges across the Caroni and the second crossing over the Orinoco, the Orinoquia Bridge, was inaugurated in the city in 2006. With approximately one million people, it is Venezuela's fastest-growing city due to its important iron, steel, aluminium and hydroelectric industries. Ciudad Guayana is one of Venezuela's five most important ports, since most goods produced in the industry-rich Bolívar state are shipped through it, as ocean-going vessel can join it from the Atlantic Ocean via the Orinoco river.

I had been in this park several times and never get bore. It is an impressionist place with the beauty of the water fall and the natural ambient. It is very important to mention the necessity of be very careful when you are approaching the water fall; and also I heard there are some security problems. But if you go with cautions, you will enjoy it.

When somebody come to visit my city, one of the local trips is the catamaran Puertorinoco.
It is a wonderful and joyous experience! Kids and adults enjoy this two hours trip that begins at Club Nautico and shows you through the Caroní river pasing by the "Encuentro de las Aguas" and the Llovizna salt and the Cachamay rapids, to end in Pica Pica beach to enjoy the Caroní delicate waters...During the trip you have spectacular and unique views of the city and can meet new friends. I highly reccomend to lunch at Casa Bote, where they prepare really good morocoto ribs. Worth its price!
I reccomend that you buy your ticket in advance (you can do it by internet) and bring your bathing suit and please, do the trip on child mood!

This is a beautiful modern mall, full of shops for all pockets. There are affordable shops and all the international brand shops from Tommy Hilfiger to Victoria's Secret.
The food court is very big with plenty of different food to choose from. Million years better than the malls I visited in Caracas.

Hours are5:30am-5:30pm but Remember to visit this park in the morning. The monkeys come out and play in the morning. If you have bananas they will come and get it. The zoo is open untill 3. Pm. The water fall is just near the entrance. No entrance fee. But it is a bit hard to take a taxi to the hotel in the evening .I dont know if there is a place to sell water or snack. So take some with you. But there are plenty of insects awaiting for your flesh to bite. So wear something to protect yourself and use anti bite creams!

Nice and save trip to the Gran Sabana and the Salto Angel. Manfred was a pleasant guy. The hostels were cosy and clean. The best part for me was the Orinoco Delta. At the time we were in Venezuela it was not easy staying in...MoreIt was a pleasure to have you both with us, thank you for your kind words, you both will be always in my thoughts! Best Regards
