Believed to date from 3000BC, this is one of the most famous stone circles in the British Isles, which consists of a stone circle (The Kings Men,) a standing stone (The King Stone,) and a burial chamber (The Whispering knights.)
Just a mile from Long Compton set high over beautiful rolling Warwickshire/Oxfordshire Countryside the location gives lovely far reaching views. Entrance is actually an Honesty box of just £1 whicrh presumably pays for the upkeep & the info boards which give a suggested history of these wierd & wonderful ancient stones, so please chuck in a donation!
There is a largish Layby to park in & you can cross the road to see the King Stone 1st which resembles a Sealion Balancing a ball! & enjoy great views of Fields leading to Long Compton below. Then recross the Rd & enter the opp little path that leads to the ring of Stones.
Now here's the fun part. Try counting the stones in the circle. It's Impossible to get the same number 3 times in a row! (Also gives the kids something to do!) Definitely worth a visit & a country amble on a sunny day!

Brewery tours run Monday to Sunday, starting from the Visitors Centre, they last approximately 2 hours. The first 1½ hours are spent around the brewery where you'll see our original steam engine, learn about our history and how we make our range of delicious beers. Once outside the Brewery, don't forget to keep an eye out for our working Shire horses, which still deliver beer to our local pubs. If you are planning a visit to the brewery and would like to see the drays on their regular Delivery rounds it is always best to phone ahead and check that the shires will be working on that day. In any event, the tour of the brewery includes a tour of the stables so you won’t miss out on seeing these amazing animals. Upon completion of the tour, it's back to our sampling bar in the Visitor Centre for a ½ hour beer tasting. It is essential to book a Brewery Tour by contacting us on the phone or email. Cost: £14.50 per person, £12.00 concessions
Hook Norton Brewery is housed in a building that looks like something from Hammer House Of Horrors! Am amazing atmospheric building.
Nearly all of the processes that they carry out still use the original facilities and machinery.
Our Tour Guide (Chris) was just so informative whilst also making interesting comments about the 'back room' stuff.
If you are interested in history - go! If you are interested in machinery/steam engines - go! If you interested in beer - obvs!!
The restaurant and shop are also very good too.
A winner!!

The Cotswolds Distillery is the first and only full-scale working craft distillery located within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We make single malt whisky, gin and other Outstanding Natural Spirits artisinally, in our beautiful 4-acre site. Tours and tastings available. Shop open 7 days a week.
We called by hoping we’d be able to have a tour without booking, however, they were unfortunately booked up 2.5 weeks in advance. Although we weren’t able to have the tour the staff were very accommodating and allowed us to watch a video which is played at the start of the tour and then went through some tasting with us. They were really informative and friendly, we just wished we’d been organised and booked, we’ll know for next time and in the meantime we have a lovely bottle of their gin to enjoy!

Had two full amazing days at the Daylesford Cookery School with Jason, James and the team. Really relaxed and friendly yet full on if that makes sense! Came away totally inspired and full of enthusiasm. The instruction was easy to follow and very informative with many good ideas and many tips for great cooking. Will definitely return to do more courses.

This is a sweet little church. The architecture, atmosphere, and dealing of the current activity really nice. I love spending time in this little building and the surrounding yard. The side door with trees framing it was straight out of a storybook. I kept expecting to see Merlyn at any moment!

This is the second time we’ve been to both the cafe and the pottery adjacent. they’re both lovely, and quite pleasant. the cafe is friendly and warm, and welcomes hikers and shoppers. The “dry loo” was notable, but probable a draw for most folks. the pottery itself has remarkable stuff, to include a nice range of artistic pots. Most was really out of my price range, but seconds are available, and it’s worth taking a serious look through their stock.

Choose whether you want to stay in hotel or B & B accommodation and we'll do the rest, providing everything you need for your cycling tour from around £135 per person per day based on two people sharing.
We are not young and have enjoyed bicycling in the past. We really wanted to be able to enjoy the beautiful Cotswolds with the wind on our faces. So we were overjoyed to discover Peter and Windrush Cycle Tours. We decided in E bikes and under his guidance we were able to float along quiet roads and through beautiful villages without fear of getting lost and landing up on a highway. This way we managed to cover a fairly large distance of beautiful countryside without getting exhausted. It was an outstanding day. Thank you Peter.

We're a family run, friendly, and welcoming Rally Driving, Performance Car & Off-road driving centre set on a beautiful country estate in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire. Vision Motorsport began over a decade ago, from an award winning British rally team, with the aim of allowing everyone to experience the exhilaration of motorsport, in a safe environment. We now have a fleet of amazing vehicles, a purpose built exclusive tarmac circuit, loose surface rally stage and authentic 4*4 off road courses, simply a venue with superb facilities and professional motorsport competitors as instructors in our team. Rally driving days, supercar experiences, 4*4 off-road courses, junior driving, corporate and team building events, staff incentive schemes and gift experience days out with Vision Motorsport.
During the rally and off road half day experience the drivers get 2 goes at the rally circuit plus a drive with an instructor at the wheel. You also have one go around the off-road course in the Discovery which takes in some interesting dips and mounds and what seemed to be some extreme camber challenging paths through woods and mini swamps!
The event was very well organised, the instructors were good and clear and the facilities for drivers and guests (loos, snacks etc) were spot on. Safety was a top priority but still was a real experience.
All the drivers seemed to find the rally element really challenging which made it an exhilarating few hours and very enjoyable. My husband came away wanting more!
It was not ever so clear (of the various experiences they offer) what cars he would be driving when we arrived but turned out to be a Ford Puma. Not a fancy car but no shortage of thrills - everyone said they felt they were really speeding when in the cars. He would have liked a bit more feedback on how he drove and improved over the morning (some sort of ranking) which was suggested in the publicity material but did not happen. He was also a tiny bit disappointed not to have an option to try a 4 wheel drive rally car and to wait 40 mins between drives.
However overall definitely recommended and very popular from the number of people there.

The hottest day in June for years and we needed coffee and air conditioning. This bookshop cafe fitted the bill. I had a pot of tea, my husband an excellent latte and clementine cake as we sat inside watching the local 'Chippies' at the market place. I ventured upstairs to browse the second hand books but heat drove me back downstairs. Lovely friendly staff.
