Great attraction, the cave is huge and impressive. The blue lagoon only gets blue in the afternoon, so if you start your tour later , it will be blue at the time you reach it. We started at 9h00 and it was 13h00 at the time we reach the blue lagoon. At that time, the sun wasn't reaching the lagoon, so it was not blue and we had to wait to see it turn blue.

Cidade de Pedra is closed sinse 2008. You can not go there with guide or without guide, but almost nobody is talking about this, even on the oficial site of city Chapada dos Guimaraes they still didn't put information, they just put attractive information about Cidade de Pedra. And than you arrived in National park you find that even tour agency are not bringing close to Cidade de Pedra just to see this from downstairs. We wanted like another toursit to see this, and we asked in travel agency with name Chapada Explorer to see Cidade (ofice is in the front of the church, they told that Chapada is closed for trakking upstairs, but we are going to see from the side. It is not realy honest....... we saw Cidade from view point may be it was in 50-60 km from us. Sad... Also the trip with this agency is not good value for money. They asked from us 170 real per person for 2 persons and 140 per person if it will be 4 people, we were only 2. Trip with name Rio Claro is very simple, no lunch is included. Agency bring by car to entrance of the national park, there you start to walk between trees. During car driving you can see some nice places for pictures, spectacular views, but driver doesn't want to stop and shows unhappy face. Than you walk is hot and nothing to see. Guide is not speaking english.Good things are view point and swiming in Rio Claro with mask folowing current of river. Try to find another agency to do this trip, because Chapada Explorer is working only for money not for tourists.

I would recommend that visitors to the Pantanal stay a little longer and visit the fascinating Chapada dos Guimaraes National Park. This is an area little known by Europeans but is a land of outstanding natural beauty with soaring red sandstone cliffs, isolated rock Islands with vertical cliffs, many of which have never been scaled by man, amazing rock formations at 'stone city' and a wealth of wildlife, especially birds, in some of the last remnants of the savannah scrub Forests that once covered much of central Brazil. Crystal clear water pours over the cliffs in stunning Waterfalls and a walk through the woods here is a real delight.
Our visit was organised by local guide Leen Gillis from Pantanal Jaguar Safaris who booked us into the Cantos da Mata lodge just down the road from her home. A must for any visit is the Brides Veil Waterfall which pours down over stunning cliffs with Red-and-Green Macaws giving wonderful aerial displays, but it is also worth persuading your guide to obtain the key so that you can visit 'stone city' (Cidade de Pedras) and watch the rocks come alive as the sun sets.
The whole area is a great place for birding including Blue-Crowned Motmots, King Vultures, Band-tailed Manakins, Burrowing owls, Cliff flycatchers amongst many others.
The Chapada is a short drive north of Cuiaba and should be on everyone's itinerary.

I'm telling this because this might happen with anybody. It is nature, we can't control it. But if you get there with a good weather, enjoy the landscape.

Our guide was kind enough to take us here even though it was not part of our tour, and we were thankful that he did. We were fortunate enough to be there when there when no other visitors were around so it was very peaceful. Additionally, we had a pair of Green and Red Macaws soaring in tandem below us that were squawking quite loudly which made us feel like we were in a primordial setting. It's an easy walk from the parking lot so its definitely worth your time.

Gorgeous place, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. I recommend it! The walls were designed by the water and the wind... pure nature beauty

Cachoeira dos namorados is not very strong so is very good for kids. Cachoeirinha is strong, excellent for a massage! The local restaurant is expensive, you better off eating at the city Chapada

Sweeping view of the low lands of Cuiaba but really nothing amazing. Go if you are in the area but you will only spend 5 10 minutes there and will get bored.

A caminhada é super agradável, e apesar do sol bem quente, ventou o tempo todo.
