A beautiful rock formation, there was a man playing the quena and it sounded great. Is a fast kind of trip, in and out; we stayed a few minutes listening to the live music. Is worth the time visiting plus the road offers fantastic views.

All along route 68, there are incredibly stunning rock formations, many named by the locals or visitors, with names that remind you of people, andimals or plants. La garganta del Diablo (or Devil's Throat), is, as you might imaginne, an impressive narroing of the road, with sheer walls rising to the sku on both sides fo the road. Whether this was the result of tectonic plates being pushed towars the sky, or the work of running water over millions of years, remains to be determined. it is a beautiful sight, though.

We had a lovely walk here. We took our hire car to the entrance to save time, but you can also walk or cycle from town. At the start of the trail you are met by several local guides offering their services; we decided to go it alone to save money and for more of a challenge! Most of the way the trail was easy enough to find - we just followed the footprints really. The only difficult parts are where you have to climb over rocks or cross the river. A couple of times we had to turn round and try a different way! But if you just follow the canyon up you can't go too wrong. The hike was really fun - more like scrambling or rock climbing in places! Don't try it in flip flops. Gorgeous scenery. We didn't make it as far as the last waterfall as we ran out of time and had to turn round (had to get back to Cafayate by the afternoon). We saw several small ones and the first of the final three though. The last part looked the most challenging to find the correct route - it was all over rocks so no obvious footprints. There were a few other people doing it with guides, so if you got stuck you could always just wait and follow them though!

We drove our rental car 5 km southwest from our Cómodo Apartamento. The upward slopping sandy road ends at the mountain foot providing great long valley views. Their well tended garden lawn provides an excellent spot to relax before/after their 70 Ap four wine tasting. Lovely afternoon visit.

For the price ($60 Argentinian), it is certainly worth a visit. It describes in utmost poetic terms the ingredients that make wine so special: the earth, water, climate, and the hands of people that make wine. It is a pleasant museum, no earthshaking information, in fact pretty simple. But again for the price certainly worth visiting.
