A late creation by area standards, Bergisch Gladbach was founded in 1856 as a city district comprising several smaller (and older) towns, with a total population of about 105,000. The 10th-century St. Johann Baptist Church at Refrath is Bergisch Gladbach's oldest building. The Bensberg Rathaus (or town hall, nicknamed "Affenfelsen," or Monkey Rock) is a nationally known tourist attraction. Schloss Bensberg and Schloss Lerbach, both former castles, are now among Germany's top luxury hotels.

My gf and I visited mediterana for the first time and we were impressed. Lots of spaces to relaxe and nap, big swimming pools, Whirlpools and for sure a big amount of sauna. I'm not going very often to places like this but I had really much fun for more than 10h! 40,00 EUR is a decent price as well for what u get. It's very clean, friendly stuff and nice audience. I would recommend it and definitely come back.

I stayed in Schloss Bensberg for a business conference. The Hotel is luxury class in an old style. If you love design hotels than this is not the right place for you. This place lives from his history and the historic character. The rooms are really big and you get fruits and water for free. The building is really big and so you have to walk long ways from your room to the restaurant or meeting rooms. The price level is high - but therefor you can met cool people there. Around this hotel there is not so such to see, but Clogne is only 15 minutes far away by taxi.

The venue is located on the way from Bergisch Gladbach to Kürten but very near to Bergisch Gladbach center. Free parking space is enough available. The museum site is distributed over several buildings, part of them are quite old. In the main building the history of the paper is told in a very good way. The new and the old way of paper making is demonstrated. The old way can be experienced in real life by making your own paper. The modern way is shown with a lab style paper machine with live demonstration every hour or so. In an adjacent building, a real paper machine can be visited. The thing is not as huge as the real one which are some 150 m long but quite impressive. The staff is very enthusiastic and add their part to it make a great experience.

Great, slightly odd, but a great way to explore traditions for an hour. The mine on the ground floor is really well laid out.

This church is a bit different from most of the typical tourist attraction church. This one is dark and cold both in literally and also by it's atmosphere. In that sense, I would recommend to give quick stop for this one as this is not like most of the church you have visited =)

The attraction is located near the railway station of Bergisch Gladbach. It’s not worth a travel but if you pass by on a tour it’s worth a look. The old lime kiln document a not so known part of the city. There is an information panel near it. You can have a look from outside into the kilns but there is no illustration what you see.

Placed in an old sports venue, this place is quite big. Unfortunately, not much have been done to make Tummel Dschungel a nice place to hang out. We've been to numerous places like this in both Denmark and Sweden, where an effort was done to make the place cozy.
The pictures on the website make this place look better than it is. Also note that some of the rides cost 'chips' to use. You get three chips per child on arrival and can buy more if needed (0,80 euro each, buy more to get a better price).
Narrow, wooden benches and tables take up about half the space and are the only sitting arrangements for adults. So here we sit and get sore bums while drinking overpriced, thin coffee from the "cafe". Some sofas or armchairs would have been nice.
As an extra bonus, the air is heavy with the stench from the deep fryer. Oh yeah, and the 'free wifi' is some hot spot service with an extremely weak signal.
Our kids, 6 and 8 yo, had fun, so therefore 3 stars instead of the 1 star I would have given the place based on my opinion alone.
