During a trip to Quebec City, an amazing day out at the Canyon Sainte-Anne's gorge with its imposing waterfall and 3 suspension Bridges is a must-do family attraction. Get into a spectacular and vertiginous canyon. Listen to the roaring of the majestic Sainte-Anne falls (74m high) between its narrow 1.2-Billion-year-old rocky cliffs. Vibrate while walking across our 3 suspension bridge. One is 60m (243') high over the gorge!Discover Giant potholes and cascades in the Mini-Canyon, along with the challenging Stone Stories Treasure Hunt with all family members. Be thrilled by our 3 vias ferratas and our 2 giant zip lines.Canyon Ste-Anne is well located, only 30 minutes from Quebec City, towards the Montmorency falls, and only 5 minutes from the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre Shrine and the Mont Sainte-Anne ski resort. The entrance is situated directly on Route 138 East, towards Charlevoix, the Le Massif ski resort, and the whale watching cruise area.
We went to Montmorency Falls, but actually liked Canyon Sainte-Anne better. The canyon is beautiful and we enjoyed the suspension Bridges and hiking trails. It had rained the day before so there was a LOT of water going over the falls. The area is beautiful. I would highly recommend a visit.

The earliest buildings of this famous Catholic landmark were constructed in the 17th century.
This is an absolutely beautiful church with stunning ceilings and stained glass. It is quite large and impressive. Known for its healthing work take note of the crutches, canes, walkers and wheel chairs mounted on the walls as evidence of the special powers. Do not miss the sanctuary downstairs which is quite modern with gorgeous tile mosaics. A must see. My husband finds it the most beautiful church he has ever seen!

This is a small, but very interesting family-run Museum/Store, displaying some very unusual copper works of art. The artistry was breath-taking, and the details and etchings on some pieces were mind boggling. The amazing items were created by Albert Gilles, and it was fun for us to find out that the marvelous copper door at the nearby Basilica was actually made by him and his wife. Wow! At the same time it was sad to learn that the members of this family are the last crafters of this form of art.
When we entered, there was a small demonstration on how a thin sheet of copper can be converted to a 3-D art, and then we were free to tour the place on our own. We were immensely impressed with the pieces, and were surprised to learn how reasonably priced the sale items were. There were exhibits on every wall. Even the Bathroom doors have identifying coins on them. Very lovely!
There was another tunnel-like room. Here, it was intriguing to see what copper looks like in its natural state, and how it is mined.
The Museum is worth a visit if you have come to the St. Anne Beaupre’s Basilica. The two places are very close by.

The Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area is the natural site par excellence to get in touch with wildlife and it's less than 45 minutes from Quebec City. Come and discover its breathtaking landscape on foot, along 20 km of hiking trails. The Cap Tourmente is a major Canadian bird-watching site. It's also a staging area for one-of-a-kind Greater Snow Geese, which flock there by the thousands every spring and fall. Did you know? 306 bird species have been identified in the National Wildlife Area. Also available, quaricycle rental, interpretive activities, controlled hunt program and much more.
We visited twice, three weeks apart. We saw just a few snow geese on our first visit. Three weeks later at the end of September there were 35000. There are numerous trails of differing lengths and difficulty. We walked several of the easier ones, and found plenty of bear scat on a couple of them!
A very friendly and helpful member of staff at the visitor centre remembered us on our second visit (impressive as she must interact with hundreds of people) and directed us to the ringing (banding/baguage) station. Staff there explained their work to visitors and showed how they ring and measure a blue jay before release (last bird trapped on the day of our second visit). This is serious, scientifc work, being conducted in public view.
The reserve is beautiful, with woodland, marsh, meadows, hillsides, cliffs and open water, and is well-used by locals as a recreational facility, as well as by hikers, birdwatchers and photographers. One word of warning - you must be out by 5.00 pm - after that the gates are locked, and note that there is no cafe, so take your own food and drink!

Mont-Sainte-Anne is an ideal year-round destination. Located only 30 minutes away beautiful Quebec City, the ski slopes rise up from the shores of the mighty and massive St Lawrence seaway giving spectacular views. This great resort boasts incredible snow conditions and proudly displays an impressive trail network. It also becomes a complete outdoors activity destination once summer comes; lodging in nature, hiking, gondola rides, mountain biking, camping, golf, canyoning, paragliding and more.
One of the great ski Mountains in North America. Probably 2/3 green or blue trails, with a formidable west side which is all black. Runs are long and pretty wide. Lifts are all high speed, which really improves dollar value per run. Fantastic views of the St. Lawrence River from the summit.

Arrived on a Sunday morning and joined the mass. What a beautiful and calming feeling as you walk throughout. Many of the columns are covered with canes and crutches and etc. Makes you wonder how many people received the gift they came to pray for. Our guide brought us to see the replica of the Pieta downstairs. He said they were the only ones lucky enough to make a mold of the original. It is definitely worth the ride outside of the city.

The access to the Mestachibo trail is free of charge and it is used for hiking in summer and snowshoeing in winter. The trail goes from the Saint-Ferreol-les-Neiges church to the Jean-Larose Waterfalls located at the base of Mont-Sainte-Anne Resort. «Le Mestachibo» follows the greater part of the Sainte-Anne-du-Nord River course. It gives visitors access to majestic and unusual sights.
