Probably more pretty in the summer than in the autumn/winter but overall a nice historical place to visit with pretty scene to stroll and chill in the central of a busy commercial district

Unless you know your Chinese history, you would not know that Baoding was previously the capital of Hebei province before Shijiazhuang. There are still many places in Baoding, like this one, that go back to Qing dynasty times. We went with a cousin of my wife and had a great time learning about the place. Was not overrun with tourists and we could amble at whatever speed we chose. Interesting for students of Chinese culture and history.

You can rent kind of a bicycle for 6 people, or a electric cart and explore the park. Or jsut walk around.
North of the park is also kind of a fairground. The park is huge, you can rent also boats to use the ponds there. We been there is January so it was frigging cold, no green at all, but still it was really nice

These tunnels were built during the Sino-Japan War by local farmers, for Chinese soldiers to hide & "live" in during that war. They're pretty much as they were back then, albeit with an arrow on the wall here and there to keep you heading in the right direction. If you're really tall, unsteady on your feet, or have a bad back, you might want to rethink a visit there - the ceilings are (mostly) low of course, and you spend some of the time bent low to avoid hitting your head. The museum up top is cleverly done and really tells the story well. My local Chinese friends and I were impressed. Took us a while to find the entrance we used, but worth persevering. In the street outside, there's the ever present street market selling war style souvenirs, including swords etc! You can also have your photo taken cheaply on the old war motorcycle &/or the jeep beside it. Great souvenir and a bit of fun after the sombre mood of the museum. All well worth the visit, in my opinion.

Quite simply this has to be a "must see" on anyone's bucket list. The glass bridge, glass sky walk and specially constructed mountain pathway system has to be seen to be believed. I have no doubt that in the years to come, this particular tourist attraction will become world renowned and on par with the USA's Grand Canyon. Absolutely unbelievable.

This is supposed to be a very famous Military School in China, but there are almost no English signs to explain what can be seen. Most of it is about honoring the people who attended this school before becoming a famous military leader of some sort. Skip it if you don't read Chinese or are into Military stuff.
