Dirty, run down and looking sad. Not the same fun place it was it a few years ago. With the fortune the owners probably made over Xmas, they'd do well to bring the place back from looking derelict and fix it up - including the Thirsty Whale.
Could be the most amazing spot.

My girlfriend and I spent a few days in Umkomaas diving with ScubaCo. They were absolutely fantastic! Tam and Dean were knowledgeable and accommodating and the dive masters/instructors were thorough in their briefings. Dean had to cancel our last dive due to bad weather at the launch and I appreciated that he didn't just send us out for crap diving in dangerous conditions. Equipment was brand new looking and in good working order. Please do yourself a favor and book with ScubaCo, you will get great value and Aliwal Shoal is just beautiful! Thanks for everything you guys!

Had a great time going out with Aliwal, experienced divers and a great atmosphere. We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights, rooms were cleaned daily and the breakfast was simple and delicious There is an option to snorkel in a cage with the sharks...MoreShot Maddie..appreciate the review! Believe it or not it was 45min with the sharks! Time flies when you are having fun... sorry about the sea sick crew...Aussies seem to battle...?

The aromatherapy was fragrance free, the grapeseed oil microwaved and dispensed from a porcelain teacup handed between therapists, the towels were dirty, the floor in our couples room was sticky, we were not a couple (me and my new partner's best girl friend has to undress together), no hot / cold beverages offered, Dischem lemon grass added to cup of grapeseed, scalding hot washcloths on our back. Overly tough pedi's, wrong colour nail varnish...
Wilted fruit and herbs in water, no manager to talk to, no compensation offered.

It was with some trepidation that I bought tickets and actually turned up for our appointment on the race track. I have never done something like this before …
It was so much fun.
The circuit is indoors (which was a blessing because it began raining just before our allotted time) and this enables spectators to also stay warm and dry. Spectators may also use the upstairs café which is air conditioned and gives a great view of the track. A complimentary printout of each lap time is given after the race. This proved that our assumption of the ‘winner’ was in fact incorrect and that a girl actually won. Needless to say this rankled her brother immensely.
I thought I was the next protégé for Michael Schumacher as I hurtled through the chicanes, but on paper, my time was 10 seconds slower per lap than the fastest in our race!
The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Safety is paramount. The instruction video was superbly put together. It was a night we will remember for a long time. Like they say: “The most fun you can have legally in a vehicle.”

Visiting Amanzimtoti regularly over the past year, we are sad that we havent found this gem before. Not far to drive, and has an awesome vibe!
Great idea to sell good quality braaipacks for the braais outside, lekker jumping castle and large open grassed area for the kids to play.
Best of all, they have a beaut of a beer called the Toti Gold!
I will visit this place every single time i come to the area, and will get family to send me some beers regularly!

I had a most relaxing foot massage at this establishment. The reception by the therapist was most welcoming. The venue is tranquil and private. Coffee and tea was offered straight away. The air conditioned treatment room was an absolute heaven sent in the humid and hot Durban weather. After the treatment I was able to take my time in getting up. I was advised not to rush. Definitely worth a visit. And they are mobile too. They also take bookings online on FB.

We went there with the kids and we tasted all they have to offer and we were 4 people and we ate for about 250 rand that was very cheap and the food was heavenly. And the nice thing was that the food was great. Have adviced every body I know to go and try it out. Will not be disappointed.
