Zug (German: Zug, [tsuːk] ( listen); French: Zoug; Italian: Zugo; Romansh: Zug; Neo-Latin Tugium), is an affluent municipality and town in Switzerland. The name Zug originates from fishing vocabulary; in the Middle Ages it referred to the right to pull up fishing nets and hence to the right to fish.

In a cosy environment directly in the old town, you can choose some excellent meals very well presented by an efficient service team. The beef steak that I tried was really succulent!

Restaurant with great atmosphere and lots of choices on their menu. Food is great, nice staff and a good view over the lake

Chutzpah! The prices are astronomical, they do not have any correlation with the quality of the food, which is mediocre. The waiters have no knowledge of Thai food. They were pleasant enough, but neophytes and clueless about Thai food, nonetheless. One thing must be said: if you get a table by the window on a nice day, the views of the lake and sun setting behind the Alps may help you heal some of the sticker shock. So dear owners, rename this restaurant: Buenavista Restaurant (which serves Thai food)

For many decades the restaurant „Bären“ has been the meeting point for the people of Zug. In the restaurant Bären you can find traditional home – made food. The Entrecôte served on a hot stone» as well as the famous «Cordon Bleu» – offer are the Bären-Classics that you need to try! The Restaurant Bären is full of tradition and one of the oldest restaurants in the city of Zug. It is located in the heart of the new town on the corner of Baarer- and Metallstrasse. Our Host Marlies Widmer and our Head Chef Thomas Janser wish you «En guete!»
This is an excellent, very busy schnitzel house with a good array of cordon bleu. My selection was filled with ham and rachlete cheese - cooked to perfection. My colleague had a delightful steak on a hot stone. The place seemed popular with both locals and expats. Without a doubt, the best meal I had over 3 nights in Zug.

We are taking the restaurant Widder back to life and are happy to welcome you back starting in April. We are delighted to serve our customers with the highest quality of food, prepared with a lot of love and passion. We are looking forward seeing you at the restaurant!
I tried to find a quite place in Zug for dinner and found Restaurant Widder
The tables with white table cloths attracted me as it looked classy.
And there were not that many people.
So, perfect for me.
Luckily, the food quality correlated with what I subjectively perceived when initially looking at this establishment from outside.
I had pasta with veal and tiramisu. Both dishes had a good standard.
The tiramisu eventually was a bit too try but this really depends on what you are used to.
The service is good as well.
And the price totally OK.
You also get a kind of amuse-bouche, some good Italian ham with crackers.
I only was surprised in the end about the fact that I did not get a Limoncello.
This would have rounded off the nice experience.

Italian Speciality Restaurant We want you to feel the experience. Italian kitchen with the right touch, and care for details. The right flavors accented with rosemary, thyme or a Chef's Secret. We try every dish to surprise the right note. Mediterranean cuisine in our restaurant we do not want to be ordinary, we always try a new way of doing every day. If a fish done in the oven, a Saltimbocca or just a pasta or pizza - something special you will always find.
Wonderful place for meetings with family friends and business If you pass by the Swiss do not miss the opportunity to taste a typical Italian food...We appreciate his kind words and for sharing with us his impressions, Thanks!!

Tradition gepaart mit gastronomischer Qualitat und einzigartigem Ambiente.
Went with friends for a special dinner. First, Aklin's location is very special. Located in the Old Town of Zug, the setting is picturesque and unique.
The inside of the restaurant is intimate and the service led by the restauranteur Gregory Walker is so special that makes you feel like a king from the minute you arrive until the last sip of Etter sherry brandy.
The food deserves another paragraph. A very special one. The meat comes from the butcher downstairs. We had a Chateaubriand with bearnaise sauce. As Chef Gordon Ramsay says: "It is to die for"
For me, it is a required stop if you are in Zug, Zurich, Swiss and Europe :)

Fischmark offers very tasty Italian food in cosy surroundings in the scenic Old Town of Zug close to the lake. The service was warm and friendly, the wine list is extensive and good value by Swiss standards. Portions are in line with Italian norms - so the ravioli is a primo platte serving. The Panna cotta was very tasty to close and we would certainly return. Three courses at dinner with wine and sparkling water was CHF 80 a person.
