A wonderfully different restaurant. Went on a Saturday evening with my partner and my daughter who is vegan? As a non vegetarian I was a little apprehensive but was blown away by an amazing vegan dish, consisting of risotto rice, all kinds of perfectly cooked vegetables topped with thick slices of butternut squash.
We also tried 3 different gin and tonics which was fun. The atmosphere and service were also excellent and rounded of a perfect evening.
One note: this restaurant like a number in Belgium from my limited experience, surprisingly doesn't take any cards so remember to take cash.

Our concept Want to socialize with couples, with your family or a business partner extensive and original breakfast, stylish lunch or afternoon enjoying the extensive coffee cake then you're in the Hasselt Maison Blanche is the right place. Delicious seasonal suggestions with fresh products! This is really "eat a la carte". Saturday from 19:30 you can enjoy a cozy evening menu: enjoy guaranteed! The sober but fashionable interiors, terraces and a custom lounge or classical background bring you immediately in a relaxed atmosphere. We forget certainly not the super-friendly and "chic" service. Maison Blanche Hasselt is the place for relaxing start of the day or a fun shopping or work breaks in.
Maison Blanche is an attractive place, even if there's hardly any space between tables. Service is very friendly and efficient. And the dishes look great. Unfortunately, they only look great. The three course tasting menu got us some tasty but unimaginative starters, followed by two pieces of Nile perch with a tasteless salad served in dough. It was made up to look like haute cuisine, but the combination of flavors (if flavors there were) did absolutely nothing. The main course was even worse: sea bream, pureed carrots (grandly named "carrot sabayon"), peppers, potatoes and a number of other ingredients in an arty looking heap. The whole thing was an exercise in mediocrity. As a dessert we got a decent nougatine with Toblerone sauce (probably the only good idea in the whole menu), and with our coffee a very good lukewarm little rice cake.
We took the wine accompaniment and although one wine was ok and one rather good (both were based on Chardonnay), they didn't enhance the flavors of the dishes at all.
Our visit gave us the impression that Maison Blanche tries very hard to look like a culinary refined restaurant, but misses one crucial thing: a good chef.

Once a year we go for lunch/dinner in a special place. Because of the reviews we choose 'de Kwizien'. We went for lunch and we choose the 5 course season-menu. One of our group does not like fruits and for dessert we had to choose for ice-cream with fruits or cheese (this was asked even before we had the first course!). The person could not get only the ice-cream (with chocolate or something else) and was forced to pick the cheese. We believe for this kind of restaurant this is really weird (the bill was €150 per person including wine).... The rest of the courses was nice but not really surprisingly. This was not a place or lunch we would recommend and we will not return.

I went to this 1 Michelin star restaurant with a friend and we had a 3 course lunch. The experience started already very wrong as we entered the building and didn't find the restaurant. Finally we encountered a young woman who brought us to the diningroom. The room was nicely decorated. The lady in charge had a little smile when she brought us to our table but the rest of the personal (all young men) were polite but without a smile. It made us feel a little unwelcome. The food on the other hand was perfect : original, lots of taste, well presented on the plates. With our coffee they came with a kart full of selfmade sweets from wich we could choose to have with our coffee. Conclusion : the food was Michelin star quality, the service was not.

This is a nice little restaurant near Hasselt. A restrained stylish décor, tempered lounge jazz music, correct and friendly service and most important : good food. We had a 4 course dinner (with a small sorbet between 2nd and 3rd course), prosecco aperitif with appetizers, 1 bottle of tasty white Burgundy wine, 2 bottles of water and coffee for €137 for the 2 of us.

I go there regularly for a good evening out
Owner and waiters/waitresses are relaxed and give you good feeling
Food is always what is should be and recommendations or specials are mostly worth it
I go back there with pleasure
Only thing that is disturbing is the noise - they should hangsome draperies or otherwise use materials that absorb the noise...
Also try their take- away.....

We went here on a Saturday evening with friends. We went early and were glad we did. We started with Stone Grill on our table : the grill is on your own table and you grill food yourself, the food is buffet style. As we were the first to use the buffet, it was not yet contaminated by people who come later and think it is ok to use one tool to put all kinds of meat on their plate (the marinated meat soaks the non-marinated and the raw chicken touches the steak : awfull). There is also a buffet with vegetables to be fried on the grill, a buffet of vegetables to eat raw and a buffet of cold and warm sauces. Freshly fried and really nice fries are brought to the table. Bread was at the buffet. We had fun grilling our own food. The food is "all you can eat" so no one left the table hungry. After the meat and the vegetables, a new buffet was opened with several desserts. Also very fresh and very good. The waiters were all very nice. Two hours after starting to eat, our bowling spot was prepared for us, we were notified it was ready and we could go and use it. I don't know a lot about bowling but the atmosphere was very nice and we had great fun. I didn't like the fact that they put out the normal lights at 9PM and used some kind of disco light : it made it very difficult to see where you were throwing the ball. After the game I asked for a print out of our results and it was handed to me with a smile. The restaurant and the bowling alley were completely sold out on the Saturday evening we were there so make a reservation !

Without any doubt the best musselrestaurant I know. Eat the special recipe of the chef : he won an award with it. As my husband is not a mussellover as I am he has tried other dishes than mussels. They are ok but not as sublime as all the musseldishes.

I have to say I'm very enthusiastic about the dinner at this restaurant. The service from the lady of the house was very welcoming, friendly and professional. Also the fact that the chef got to the table often to present dishes is a very nice aspect. You can see they love their jobs and perform with great passion. All the dishes we got were of very nice quality. The few remarks I have:
- the portion of meat on my main dish was disappointingly small
- the kitchen help came over shy (looking very neutral and never smiling) and displayed some impolite manners sometimes (saying nothing back when you help her with cleaning the table/picking up plates). I'm sure this is due to her lack of experience and this issue will be solved over the years.
- the chef was wearing wristbands from festivals which are, as we all know, not hygienic when working with food.
Overall a definite recommend! I would go back
