Suggested by lonely Planet guide, this place looked ok on trip advisor (compared with many other places with 95% excellent reviews) and our experience in a Friday evening was exactly that : ok! Nothing spectacular in your plate , good service, menu in English, fresh bier.

I like this place,i like food there, is actually very good especially pizza, but .... I´ve been there before few times and i visited again the restaurant after couple of years and i was disappointed, like somebody said below, there are missing the politeness, more smile of the staff, but maybe i met only guys who didn't have good day, it is happening, but ... but i guess that knowledge of a English language would be welcomed for the guest from abroad ... because i had to translate for my girlfriend and for the waiter as well... that is not very pleasant ...

Quiet enough so friends can speak. Looks like a place where people meet and just hang out. Good decor and good service. I ended up here almost every night of my stay in Zilina.
Only one beer on tap. small cups of coffee...although I think this is generally the way coffee is served everywhere in Slovakia

On a trip with cousins doing genealogy research. One is greatly good challenged-vegetarian, dairy allergic and chemically sensitive, making dining out choices interesting. We are at Vulcan twice-both times he wait staff was patient with this cousin, carefully listening to questions and requests. The food was great, and the service patient and attentive. We may have been some of the first Americans that some of the folks there had met-they never skipped a beat in giving us a lovely meal.

I recommend Šturbaks café, nice service, possibility of paying by card (which is not that obvious in Zilina), WiFi, cosy atmosphere and most importantly great coffee and amazing cake collection. Really great place for morning caffee, or casual meeting with friends, or work on computer.

I have eaten at La Famille twice while travelling to Slovakia on business. These two dining experiences were about a year apart, and both times I left thoroughly impressed.
La Famille is a unique restaurant, where the menu depends on what ingredients the chef has on hand. He describes the ingredients, their origins, and makes his own recommendations based on what is fresh and in season. Flavor, quality, and ambiance all combine to make this an excellent restaurant. Can't wait to be back!

Been here many times. Best pizza I've had (apart from my wife's, home made). Never disappointed... Except for when I ordered garlic bread for a starter, which was basically toast smeared with garlic butter and raw tomato on top. Given the pizza is fantastic, I'd expect the garlic bread to be of a similar standard, using pizza dough rather than slices of standard bread. Great pizza... That's all.

I must praise a good communication with manager Mr. Valica. We arranged a small celebration of my brother´s birthday in a restaurant.
Everything was prepared on time, all dishes were modern, brilliant, tasty and well arranged. The cuisine was just perfect and could match 4 star hotel. The only minor downside was weaker service. The meals were served prior to men then to women. As well as a wine was refilled during eating which was a bit disturbing.
On the whole the Kamelia overcame my expectation and would recommend mailny to those seeking 4 star cuisine.

We ate here 2 days, one day for breakfast & a pre wedding lunch. The staff were super friendly and the food was really good. They had a stringy cheese that was slightly salty but really good & addictive. The breakfast spread was really good and they had an espresso machine with good coffee.
