Liked everything about the restaurant: a nice place with pelicans sitting and flying near by, excellent service with recommendations, delicious fresh seafood, great atmosphere of the place, even the small pelican drawings in the menu were so cool! Definitely recommended to have lunch or dinner if you are around but better make a reservation as the place is always full.

Excellent location and ocean view. The new Terrace is just a perfect place for watching a sunset with an awesome pisco sour (really good as well).
The empanadas are just the best. The perfect combination of cheese and seafood, which is a Chilean specialty, find in this place their best performance. The marisco one (without cheese) is also amazing. The dough is crusty and not oily after deep-frying, which gives the perfect envelope for a great mixture of ingredients.
Combining these factors: excellent view, good drinks and excellent and affordable food. it well worth a recommendation and is a must if you are travelling or visiting the central coast of Chile.

First the food: our lunch was delicious- very fresh seafood perfectly prepared at a perfectly splendid location directly on the sand and some distance from the crowded main beach. The limonada with ginger and mint was superb. Our waiter, Felipe, was very friendly and helpful. We had walked from Zapallar to Cachagua beach from our hotel, the Isla Seca, in Zapallar probably about 4 miles along the road. It is possible to walk through Zapallar on the beach path but from Zapallar to Cachagua one needs to cut up to the road. It is an extraordinary walk with lots of interesting residential architecture and sea views but quite hilly. When we asked Felipe for a taxi to get back to Zapallar, he let us know there were none. He spoke to his boss, George, who then offered to drive us back himself- going the extra mile (or actually four or five). A short walk from the restaurant, one can see the penguins on their island along with vultures, cactus, seagulls and lots of pelicans- an amazing group. One needs binoculars for this. The vibe in the restaurant is very pleasant- lots of hugs and friendly interchange between staff and patrons. A really special place- we highly recommend. Thank you Felipe and George.

My husband and I enjoyed lunch today at Cesar's on Christmas Day. We had intended to eat at El Chingarito, but it was closed. This restaurant is right on the beach and, though it was packed and we had no reservation, we were seated immediately. Most of the Seating is outdoors. I ordered a reineta/shrimp/avocado ceviche, my husband the filet with mushrooms, and we split fries and a pisco.Everything was delicious, the ambience peaceful, the view gorgeous. It is pricey, but it's to be expected given the location.

Seems that this place doesn't exist anymore or at least in the vicinity we couldn't find it.. It's a quiet street with not much on it so we assume that it has since been closed down :(

What a disappointing Pizza ! No tomato base and burnt. Great atmosphere but if your star dish is not up to scratch then you are living of your laurels.

I was a bit afraid of trying this restaurant, as many fellow tripadvisors had complained about the terrible waits and the irritating slowness of the kitchen.
I experienced none of that. Quite the opposite, service was faster than average even with a full house. And the waitress was lovely and attentive.
The place is set on a cozy house atop a hill close to the main square, and boasts a beautiful Terrace as well as a salon. We chose to eat inside as the night was cool, and they don't have heaters outside.
We tried the house ceviche (good), the gratin scallops (great), the octopus (decent, but overcooked) and the rabbit (good). There are also pasta and meat options to choose from.
Servings are large, and can be easily shared if you are not starving. The octopus portion, for example, is massive. The wine list is short and nothing to write home about, but the prices are very reasonable (bottles from 8 USD and up). We were kindly offered a free shot of liquor with the check.
All in all, one of the best options in Papudo: fair food, relaxed and fairly priced.

The restaurant was freezing cold. The waitress was hopeless, not untypical in Chile but this place was recommended to us by a native Chilean describing it as 'amazing'...it was far from that.
Back to the waitress, she didn't explain half of the dishes weren't available, when I ordered the fillet steak she told me it would be replaced with sirloin. Ok. 'For the same price?' I asked, 'si' was her response coupled with a quizzical look!
I then had to chase after her to tell her how I wanted the steak cooked. When it arrived it was supposed to come with a Roquefort sauce. It did not. It was slathered in a horribly
sweet, bone marrow-like sauce with potatoes swimming in oil clearly not cooked at a high enough temperature. The meat also was not sirloin. All the meanwhile we were waiting for an ice bucket for our overpriced bottle of white (wasn't really necessary with the temperature of the restaurant) but the point was, it never arrived.
We ordered mariscos pil-pil to start. The seafood was chewy, over-cooked (possible reheated) not like how I have ever experienced it on the coast of Chile in 6 years I living here.
My husband's fish 'wok' dish
was 'over-the-top' on Asian flavour, way too much sesame.
A place with big ideas and absolutely no clue on what the food on their menu actually should taste like.
Needless to say we left no tip and I took the meat home for my dog.
Definitely overpriced for the dismal service (we were only 1 of 2 tables in the place!) and awful devastatingly bad food. AVOID!
