If you want burnt strips of aubergine wrapped around cocktail sticks, this is the restaurant for you! Followed by microwave melted cheese, but a restaurant owner who tells you that your food will be with you in a minute but he must change his shirt? ??! Really strange, but so funny! Go here for amusing times but not for good food!

Unfortunately this review is only going to raise future diners expectations. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here. We can only concur with all the complimentary comments already written about this restaurant. The steak was extraordinary good and the wild boar - jabalí, a real treat.

We overnighted in Zafra and stumbled across this restaurant as we were walking around. What a perfect find - atmosphere looked brilliant inside and out, we ate on the patio. Waiter couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, food was beautiful, good value, and the perfect night out.

We visited this restaurant on a hot Friday night in July. Their vaporization cooling system was welcome in creating an enjoyable evening temperature at their outside tables in a car free street.
We ate between three of us a variety of their dishes including pork & beef, all of which were served with an interesting flare on what could have been boring standard dishes.
Service was speedy and charming, the waitresses also had good knowledge of their menu and interpreted our wishes perfectly to the chef.
The wine list was good and many of the local wines we found were extremely keenly priced. This will be our restaurant home on future trips to Zafra.

Excellent choice. From the moment you arrive, the staff welcomes you with wine, sangria, refreshments, and assorted cheese, jamón, and other regional delicatessen. Greetings on the house. The service is attentive and extremely cordial. We ordered wine from the region (Ribera del Guadiana, crianza), and had home-made jamón iberico and Salmorejo (a cold soup, extraordinarily delicious) for starters. The feast continued on cochinillo asado (Segóvia style roasted suckling pig) and eggplant lasaña (stuffed with pork) basis. Impossible to say which one was better. A meal to remember.

This was a disappointing meal, especially so as we really like the hotel. The restaurant's courtyard setting is lovely.
We ate in another Paradore in Northern Spain last summer and found the same problem. It seems that all the dishes, based on local, regional specialities are prepared in advance. Stew in a big pot or a roast from which three generous slices are cut. The effect is of a superior canteen with a waitress intervening instead of the customer helping himself. I can make gazpacho with more life in it.
The local wines were faultless.
Based on this and its sister in Santillana del Mar Paradores need to sort themselves out.

La Bendita is new dairy located in the hearh of the Middle Ages city. One of the best place to try cheese of the whole Iberian Peninsula.
On a recommendation we went there ,but just for 'light' tapas since we had an evening meal pre-booked at the Parador. The food is so good, even with temperatures of 35C, that you don't do light ! The jamon is excellent and my sheep cheese melted with oregano was to die for.We even pigged out on a pudding : truffles with cheese ice cream ,simply the best savoury ice cream I've tasted. All this ,two other delicious tapas, and three drinks each, for under 40 € Sorry ,Parador, you're going to have to excel to tempt us this evening.

Dinner inside the restaurant. A cosy little room, full when we went of French cyclists on tour (tried not to mention Brexit but they wanted to "chat" - no problem most were cool). A small amuse bouche of spicy Gazpacho, followed by a huge Asparagus/mayo salad and deep-fried creamy leek pancakes (yummy) for starters then Solomillo Iberico in two different ways (Pork) mains with Potatoes and chocolate fondants for dessert. All very, very nice but whist the menu was sort of translated, there were bits missing so we think we ordered two mains opposed to a starter and main. No problem, whole thing with a bottle of wine was only 58 Euros. On the translation thing - we noted that the bar menu offered "Grilled Iberian Lizard" - so check it out as I think (hope) that's a mis-translation. PS - Hope the French cycle club got on OK in 40 degrees of heat, not for me thanks. Bonne chance!

Very good ice cream and some weird flavours too! I got cheesecake with Pedro Jimenez which was lovely! Unfortunately only stayed for 1 day in Zafra. Until next time!
