You will find a very special restaurant in the quaint little city of Stavoren. Come visit us in our converted traditional Frisian Farmhouse and enjoy a wonderful meal in our Scottish Restaurant & Whiskybar. We serve food inspired by the better Scottish cuisine, but made with as much locally sourced produce as possible. May we serve you our fine Frisian Lamb, our Ribeye Steak with Haggis or some of our homesmoked local goatscheese? If you like to see more, check out our regularly updated menu on our website. With all our dishes we endeavour to find the best fitting whisky to complement the taste and surprise your senses further. With a choice of over 400 Scotch Single Malts you really are spoilt for choice....We look forward to welcoming you to our little Scottish hideaway in Friesland, The Netherlands.
We booked for eight and surmise from the service that was a bit late as the proprietor said when eventually she arrived at table - 12 minutes after we sat down that they had been busy with coffees and whiskys but the place was less than half full!!!! The food was OK the vegetarian being better than the rib eye with what was claimed to be haggis but was NOT. This is a tourist trap and not what it says on the tin. Whatever is reported here wil have no impact because the majority will stil be seduced by the "Scotch" which it is definitely not!

My husband and I ate here on tow consecutive nights during a cruise of Friesland. We ate lunch at a couple of other restaurants in town, but felt this was the most creative, interesting food available in Workum. The view of the sluice implied in the name is a bit of a stretch, but it does have very nice outdoor Seating with a good view of one of the lift Bridges at the west end of town. Family style sides were served with tasty main courses. The wait staff were accomodating and spoke enough English to help us through the menu.

At the borders of the former Zuiderzee (nowadays the Ijsselmeer) you find the wee town of Hindeloopen. In the Middle Ages sailors from Amsterdam harboured on there way to Scandinavia and back. It's a town of old culture and their own decorative painting style. At the dyke you'll have a break or real dinner At restaurant The Hinde.
I was there for just a cup of coffee, appletart and cream. Well, both home made and the cream really excellent. Must 've come from Frisian cows.
Couple of months ago I had some beers. Very tasty dutch Maallust beers.
I handn't a dinner until now sow one less star is because of that.
But them are member of the Frisian Cullinair, with very good reviews. So you're more than save to have a good dinner for sure.
Go the county of Friesland for a break or a sailing holiday and visit this authentic refurbished spot.

It Posthûs is in 2015 verkozen tot leukste restaurant van Friesland Puur, vers, regionaal, eerlijk, fairtrade, streek, biologisch en seizoen. 3-gangen keuze menu 30,00
We really enjoyed our meal. The menu is limited but with a good mix of fish/seafood and meat, mainly beef. I started with a lovely carpaccio with pistachios, truffle Mayo and capers followed by sole in a spicy saffron sauce. My wife had a seafood bisque followed by Moroccan chicken. Children enjoyed their sausage an chips. Waitresses really friendly tomus and children despite us being the scruffiest and only people with children.
And they accept credit cards which seems to be rare!

Vanwege de goede beoordelingen op Tripadvisor waren we van plan dit restaurant in Bolsward te bezoeken. Het blijkt echter verhuisd te zijn naar Workum. Helaas dus niet gegeten daar!

Nice location in main square that catches the sun and provides everything from coffees to dinner from a menu offering a wider than usual choice. Parma melon, shrimp croquettes, and sole were all good quality and tasty plus desserts including limoncello with prosecco, or cheese with port. Service was good and friendly, so recommend a visit.

We stopped here at lunchtime for a light snack over the May bank holiday weekend. The food was freshly prepared, service was good and we could watch the world and the comings and goings of the busy little harbour as we ate. It was a very enjoyable lunch stop which we would recommend.
