Wiener Neustadt (German pronunciation: [ˈviːnɐ ˈnɔʏʃtat]) is a city located south of Vienna, in the state of Lower Austria, in north-east Austria. It is a self-governed city and the seat of the district administration of Wiener Neustadt-Land District. The city is the site of one of the world's oldest military academies, the Theresian Military Academy, which was established by Empress Maria Theresa of Austria in 1752 to train officers for the Austrian army.

The restaurant is in buffet style. You can take prepared dishes from the buffet or you put some ingredients like mushrooms, vegetables, meat, fish ... on your plate and a cook finishes it for you. You can choose between a number of sauces like teriyaki or garlic (hot or mild). For dessert there is a variety of fruit or ice cream. It's not cheap to eat there but it's worth the money.

Big space, quick Service, nice restaurant. Menu is very big - but they are not flexible und you want to change an ingredient. Portions are more than enough. The price is totally okay. Try their appetiziers! Unfortunately i do believe they use a lot of industrial food.

I've been to this restaurant in may 2014 for dinner. Unfortunately I didn't like the service. Food was quite good (I don't like the idea of serving meat together with pasta, but that's my opinion). The bad thing was the service: quick but unfriendly, they had problems with credit card and the didn't serve me a glass of wine but I payd for it !!
The menu is wide (a lot of particular meat kind) but too expensive.

Altes Backhaus is located in a charming old house - once a traditional bakery. The Chef, Mr. Gruber, is an absolute professional. Local, fresh and seasonal cuisine paired with great local wines. Service smiling, friendly and outgoing - in summer some tables in a sunlit courtyard. My absolute favorite, from business lunches to taking our´t family and friends. Wiener Neustadt finally has an extraordinary place to go for lunch or dinner - except Sundays and Mondays.

I opted for the daily menu @ €8.50 which was zuppa ai funghi and salmon alla grillia today. Both were delicious and definitely also worth the regular a la carte price. Fast and friendly service!
Of course we finished lunch with an espresso and expected an Italian roast. What we got was an espresso from Daniel Moser roast which is a key figure in the Viennese coffee tradition, roasted right here in Wiener Neustadt. Unless an Italian meal isn't complete for you without an espresso from the typical dark roast beans, this is a quite interesting alternative.

A must be, if you like the italian cuisine.
The Ambient is a little bit spartan, but you aren't here to experience the furnishings.
You are here for real italian flavour.
When you come into the small and hidden Restaurant, you will get overwhelmed by the Boss itself, who is still serving his guests, personal and with some help of his Wife Margret.
If you aren't sure what you want to eat (which Pizza), just order a "Sorpresa". The Cook will then surprise you with a Pizza.
In my Opinion, its the best Pizzeria in this area, and the best within an radius of 60 Kilometers.
JUST TRY IT.

There is a lot of poor customer service in this part of Austria but zweieck is 'the diamond in the rough'. Waiting staff with a smile, top food and a relatively relaxed setting. Parking could be better but hey ho, you can't win 'em all. If I had to recommend a restaurant in Wiener Neustadt, this is it - well done zweieck, keep up the good work - more of the same please.

In Wiener Neustadt it is not that easy to find a decent place for having dinner or a good glass of wine. Xaver is one of the few exceptions, offering a mouth-watering menu varying according to season on a regular basis, but never varying in its (high) quality. What I like even more is the fantastic selection of wines that Xaver, the host (aka the 'Wirt'), has to offer. His 'Wirtshaus' is just the kind of tavern Vienna and the surrounding area has been famous for, but nowadays difficult to find.

The Trattoria is on a corner in the center of Wiener Neustadt, just off the Marktplatz so I decided to go for a Dinner. I ordered Lasagna and a roter Spritzer against he scorching heat. Just a bit I got the wine (nice mixture ....) and the Lasagna. Which was a complete dissapointment. I don't know what they did to it but is was a salty lump (the pasta hardly discernible from the stuffings) of something with some almost burned cheese over it.
Very bad and really small - obviously I didn't want to try my luck with anything else so I went for some three scoops of icecream to the Griessler aroudn the corner!
