The name Wells comes from the city's three wells dedicated to St. Andrew. Now there's a fun factoid to fill up your next awkward silence. In England's smallest city, you won't find the big summer crowds of nearby Glastonbury. Instead, you'll have more than enough room to sight-see as you please. And there are plenty of youth clubs to entertain the kiddies while you wander. The cathedral in Wells is the landmark attraction, but also check out the nearby Bristol Zoo Gardens and International Helicopter Museum.

The food was extremely lacking in any flavour (fish) and the service was pretty low. The final straw was the parking ticket for parking in their car park! At no point when we booked the meal, phone calls and emails (Xmas party) were we advised that we needed to get a parking permit from bar. We were not advised by any member of staff during the evening that we could get a ticket. They really don't care! Be careful! That was a really expensive crap evening never to be repeated!!

We dined here on a Saturday night.
It was busy but that did not impact on the service received: this was attentive, without being overbearing, throughout.
The tasting menu consisted of small, yet perfectly appointed dishes of great flavour. Each looked as good as they tasted.
If wine pairing was available, we missed it so ordered a bottle from the main wine list.
Our table was booked for 7.30pm and we were out just after 9pm. At no point did anything feel rushed. All courses were delicious, but the desert was triumph.
Would certainly come back again if in the area.

We are a family run Italian restaurant and have been for over 40 years now. We are situated directly on The Cathedral green with stunning views of the West front of Wells Cathedral. The hotel has 9 beautifully refurbished en suite bedrooms, and a restaurant that can seat 50 people. We specialise in Italian cuisine, with plenty of past and pizza options. We make our own pasta and pizza dough daily on the premises, along with fresh sauces to compliment each dish. we also have a good variety of meat and fish dishes, plenty of vegetarian options, a couple of vegan options and we are very mindful of peoples dietary requirements. I have a very talented kitchen team who work tirelesly to produce wonderful food day in day out to a very high standard. My professional front of house team are all extremly experieced in giving the best possible service at all times which enhances your meal experience with us at Rugantinos.
Very disappointing. Antipasto starter looked lost on the plate, tiny pieces of italian sausage, five small whitebait, four olives, one small piece of artichoke, one small bit of soggy bruschetta and one breadstick. I had fettuccini Alfredo for main course. The food was freshly cooked and very tasty however a very small portion. I mentioned this to the waiter and he was surprised and said they cook 110 grams of pasta per portion, I have just cooked pasta at home this evening and cooked 100 grams and the portion was substantially more than I had served at Rugatino so I think they either need to purchase new weighing scales or ensure the chef is weighing out the proper amount. Left hungry and would not return. Shame as so many restaurants to choose from in Wells and we made a bad choice.

Stopped here for a lovely lunch whilst exploring the fantastic Cathedral city of Wells. I had the lamb special and my wife had the mushroom risotto. By the looks of it Andre's gets extremely busy, so best to pop in earlier than later or book a table, but whilst we were there they made every attempt to accommodate whoever came through the door.

Been here many times before but don`t think we`ll be returning. The staff took a bit of time to take our drink order and then a long time to bring the two drinks. Then it took ages for food order to arrive, even though there was nearly as many staff as customers. Food was ok though nothing special. We were going to have a coffee after dinner but none of the waitresses even looked our way they were just stood around the bar chatting....didn`t even clear the plates. Very disappointed.

We had arranged a family party for 12 people, having never been here before. Right from the start of booking the table etc the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating. The joys of picky teenagers, 7 year old and a Coeliac nothing phased them!
The evening itself was brilliant, although sat in the bar you were never made to feel in the way, the place is small but warm and welcoming. The food was excellent, everyone was catered for and no one complained. The portions are large but manageable.
I would recommend this inn to anyone, and when in the area would definitely return. Shame I don't live closer!

By way of a small celebration, my wife and I dined at Beah on Saturday last.
The staff were, as ever, attentive, friendly and kind. The dishes we chose were delicious - I heard remarks along the lines of 'best I've ever had' to describe the Filo pastry basket of vegetable ragout topped with Cajun spiced Brie. My portion of pasta Alfredo was generous and tasty in equal measure.
I should have let two courses be enough, but chose instead the brioche and apricot bread and butter pudding to follow, leaving me very full and sated with good food.
With all that to offer, how could one possibly complain?

The staff at this place were very welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was delicious although I ordered the butternut squash and black bean Chili which came without black beans ( a significant protein source for veggies) I was told it was a misprint in the menu and compensated by free drinks. My husband had the salmon and it was excellent.
Good veggie selection and the Chili could be a vegan dish without the sour cream.

We are locally family run restaurant with local frendly staff. We have been hear for 9 years, 8 years as café piano, but we have no longer have a piano so we just changed the name to The courtyard restaurant. We just want you to have a great time with afordable food
Well, this was selected by family members fairly cold ,when we were planning the annual return/meet up for a pre Christmas lunch together at our old school hunting ground.
So we were not sure what to expect .
We were greeted by some lovely ladies and we welcomed thier courteous and efficient service.
The menu selection was good and we were so pleased to have plumped for the set lunch.
This was excellent value for money, freshly prepared and hit all the taste spots with some lovely presentation .We all agreed this was a 5* lunch, so many congratulations to all, my brothers' only mild beef was that there was no draft beer.
This did not stop them enjoying a lovely bottle (2 or was it 3?) of an excellent local brewery

This is without doubt my favourite place to eat in wells! Have eaten here since a child. Food is gorgeous, hearty, tasty. A variety of vegetarian dishes served along with salads, soup, cakes etc. I just wished it was open for evening meals!
