This was everything we hoped for, for our first dinner in Galicia. The menu was pretty extensive but of course we chose a shellfish platter, and pulpo. Never had Percebes before, and they were delicious! Excellent and bountiful order of pimentos de Padron, too.

Visited with friends and family.
I had the Angus churrasco steak and it was really chewy, which was disappointing. 3 big slabs of meat though, with fries, for €13. Even so, one slab of better quality meat would have been better.
Large assortment of Deserts, most of which weren't prepared in house and came from 'Nestle' commercial type menus.
Wine was good, service was OK.
Not as good as it used to be. Sorry.

Came for a couple of beers and also intending to have a light supper. The free tapas that came with the beers is in the first photo - sliced cheese plus seafood with pasta. Afterwards had another beer and a glass of Albariño and along came another free tapas, this time a good sized helping of fabada, see the second photo. So we left totally full with a bill of only €6.80! The place had a really good atmosphere and I'd willingly return on another day when I had more appetite.

What a location for lunch right on port of Carril with coastal sea views from all angles, no better way to enjoy the degustation menu at O Loxe Mareiro owned by Marcos and Iago of Abastos 2.0 in Santiago. An incredible concept and good way to discover the flavours of the Rias Baixas. Thanks for a great lunch Marcos! I will be back soon.
WOW can describe this meal! Don't know how I took a photo of each dish, was dying to dig in

O fogón da Ría is one of the best retaurants around Villagarcía. The menu list is really varied and offers many different options from local shellfish to nicely done galician meat, (or Angus if you prefer...) and some really tasty fish caceroles galician style. It is an old (fully refurbished) galician house with a beatiful garden, and you can lunch or dine in the outside if you wish (not during winter, as you are in Galcia, one of the rainiests parts of Spain). You will need a GPS to find it as although only a couple of kms out of Villagarcía it takes a narrow and winding local road to get there. Service is good and friendly. Try the grilled zamburinas (small scallops), and the "Merluza a la cazuela" (hake cacerole) with galician potatoes, onions, and asparagus and a delicious sauce.......

We had a wonderful tapas dinner here with our two kids. It's worth the detour from the Camino Portugues. Espacially the queso de. Cabra con tapenade and the jamin were top of the bill. A bottle of Altos de Torona (Albarino) was fantastic. And friendly staff.

A very modern and trendy bar built in typical galicia stone houses on the Marina avenue minutes away from the water/beach. The restaurant/bar offers tapas and local products such as the great white wine "Albarino" which is a must! as well as wines from the neighbouring province such as "Ribeiro". Great Atmosphere! The place is always packed but let it not scare you away. There is a high table rotation so one has not to wait too long for a table. A recommendation would be to try to get a table in the back on the patio.

Everytime we go to Vilagarcia, we end up having a drink at this wonderful and tiny little place. They have awesome nachos and mini-hamburgers, a wide variety of wines and the staff is super friendly. Defenetly try the Albariño (typical Galician white wine) named "Marieta"...MoreThanks a Lot Cristina, It´s a pleasure for us to hear your opinion and to receive your visit. We are trying to make our customers happy everyday. And I think we´re getting there, slowly. A big huge from Richar Malquerida´s Owner

Trato familiar y local tradicional y casero. Hacen unos bocadillos aparte de sabrosos, enormes. Si no eres gran comedor pide medio bocadillo.

Plácido is the official restaurant of the Hotel Carril, a 4 star modern venue just a few metres off Villagarcía beach. A very wide menu is offered to you at more than reasoble prices. Rafa, the maitre, is always aware of all that is going on at the restaurant and ready to change, alter or correct any defficiency you might find......
Weekend and special day's menues (Father's or Mother's day, local holidays or season dishes) are really good and and very clerverly priced.
I would recommend the octopus (typical galician dish) on potato "foam", and the largely offered choice of hot or cold toasts, tuna fish, different cheese options, anchovies with tomato,...and many more. You can have a more than a decent lunch for 25 euro or less per person, nicely served and with a great view of Arosa Bay. They have a small site with amenities for the kids.
