Knowledgeable staff too. Pleasant surroundings. Very popular Friday evening when we went. Suspect booking sensible in busy season.

Embora quando se entre se perceba que gelados é com eles, não deixe de experimentar os maginificos croissants que a Mabi apresenta!
Although when you enter, you realize that ice-creams is one of their strengths, do not hesitate in tasting the magnificent croissants that they present!

Wonderful spot on the shore! It is the perfect place to enjoy fresh fish and the sunset. My personal favorites for the two afternoons we spent there where the grilled sardines (full of taste and savor), complemented by a bottle 2015 Barrique Selected Branco from Herdade do Sabroso (many of them, to tell the truth).

We choose the prawn curry & vegetarian curry. Both were good, however I choose medium spice and found it too mild, so would recommend you choose the spicy option. In my prawn curry there were lots of vegetable (cooked perfectly al dente) & lots of prawns. Had a large selection of wines by the glass. I choose the recommended red, which was very nice. For dessert, we shared the creen brûlée, which was really good & a huge portion, so sharing between two was perfect. We were there on a Monday night & the restaurant was very busy. We did not have a reservation & we were able to get a table, however might be a good idea to reserve a table in advance. Would highly recommend & would definitely eat here again, if I was back in Vila Nova de Milfontes.

Typical portuguese restaurant near the river. The view is breath taking. Good food quality (both meat and fish). easy parking. Great place to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. 5* staff!!

Me and my friends were looking for a good Italian place and we're almost deterred by the long wait and the bad service to the other guests. We decided to wait and have the meal there. After having to point out that there we're tables available we finally sat and had dinner. All 4 pizzas were flawlessly prepared but the service bad as our wait prepared us to expect.
Promising place to have a good meal, stained by the lack of organisation and preparation for the high season demand.

Funtastic view, located just by the sea, above the fishing harbour. Porto das Barcas is a restaurant were you can enjoy the best fresh products from the sea and the best meat from Alentejo, cooked in the tradicional Portuguese way, acompanied by one of the many outstanding wines produced in our country. W/Private parking.
We stopped here for lunch during a slow drive from Lisbon to Sagres. Lunch for two
in the quiet, shaded Terrace / porch. We had clams and shrimps as starters; grilled fresh squids as main dishes, accompanied by very good boiled and raw vegetables. Excellent sparkling vinho verde suggested by the waitress. Food was delicious. Staff was welcoming, kind and professional. Definitely worth the stop!

We were recommended this restaurant by a local. I personally prefer a quieter atmosphere so there was a split opinion between our family. Some liked the football being on TV and the noisy atmosphere however it wasn't for me. The food was ok, not the best in the town but it was well received by the majority of us. The prices were good for the quantity of food given.

We arrived for a late meal (around 22.30) and they still served us and the food was great (shrimps and lasagna). Very good value for money, recommended.

Portugal is known for it's food, it's service and it's weather. There are touristic locations that are more foreign tourist oriented and there are others more domestic tourist oriented. Vila Nova de Milfontes is a domestic tourism destination. The overall service is bad, people that work here are not nice to tourists and do not aim to serve the client. The same happens to this restaurant. It has a lot of fame for people that actually live there, not for foreign tourists. We were poorly received, waited for more than 30 minutes to have a table and after that we were told that no table was going to be available because it was already too late (it was 22:30), although the place closes down at 23:00. Other restaurant experiences with known restaurants was similar. It's not a good destination for foreign tourists.
