Lovely restaurant, very friendly staff. The owner speaks English. Their meat dishes are amazing. First night had the posta de vitela which was delicious. The second night we had the lamb dish that was recommended. I dont think you would get any better quality of meat in a 5 star restaurant. Their house wine was good too. It may be the only restsurant in the town but no one else could compete if there were others. There were many locals eating there too which is always a good sign.

Mentioned In Lonely Planet Guide
We stumbled across the restaurant on a recent visit to this charming town. The restaurant was bustling and we were warmly welcomed. They have a grill menu on a Thursday evening, otherwise it is a range from wild boar, codfish, beef, salads and other local dishes.
Dishes are reasonably priced, the food is not dense or overly oily as other traditional family joints can be and arrived very promptly. If you are in town and looking for an honest, well run family restaurant with a decent Douro wine list and tasty food, look no further.
Recommended.

The restaurant will be closed from 23rd of December 2015 until 10th of February 2016.
You'll be hard pressed to find a better view in the region for such great value. Excellent fried fish and top-notch pork filets, but the crown jewel of Preguiça really is the fish soup. Decent house wine. Did I mention it's great value? Reachable by boat.

One of those regional restaurants where locals go to eat... and we do eat here. Dont expect a michellin star service here. These is the place where you can here what locals are looking for and with the local sympathy on the menu.
A must say is a hidden gem. Good food. No big colors or effects. FOOD! And the price a must say is cheap. Beware of the size of the dessert. One dessert can well serve three people so...
Not state of the art but is good to have something like these around these area.

This place is really at the end of the road and there is no reason to go there unless you are going to the restaurant or catching the train. There aren't even any buildings except the train station, a winery and the Bago d'Ouro.
It seems the restaurant is doing something right because it's always got a crowd and of course Sundays are to the top. Maybe the best way to get to this place is to take the train. If you time it right you will have time for a great meal as well as catch the return train.

A local restaurant, located in the historical center of Torre de Moncorvo. Specializing in regional cuisine, using locally sourced ingredients. Also featuring the world famous wines of the Douro Valley. This is a family owned and operated business. We have a fixed menu that changes according to seasonally available produce, but will always include appetizer, side, entree, and dessert.Olive oil and wine tastings are available by reservation for groups of 5 to 35 people. Included in lunch.open for lunch 12:30-2:30Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday open for dinner 7:30-12:00Tuesday - Sunday
Excellent regional appetisers and incredibly tender and thick beefsteak ,which is made from the Vaca barrosa cows. You must try the fresh cottage cheese and pumpkin jam as a dessert. Also there is a small shop nearby selling the regional products served in the restaurant, like pumpkin jam, olive oil and wine.
The atmosphere is also very nice and friendly. And the prices very good. And you can see the beautiful church in front of the restaurant.

This is a fine restaurant inside a world class museum with corner wall to wall, floor to ceiling glass windows affording a view of the beautiful Coa River where it flows into the Douro River. The food is excellent and the service is gracious. Do not miss it!

The food I was served was excelent quality, and the wine also. The staff were a bit unexperienced, but nice. It's run by two young guys who want to offer something different. But all in all it's quite pricey as for Portugal. You can eat the same, only one third the price, in many other places in Portugal.

Family restaurant with regional and homemade dishes served with sympathy. We speak english, french, italian, spanish and portuguese.
Wanted to experience authentic Portugese cuisine and was not disappointed. I had a typical sausage dish which was very good. This was one of our first places to eat at in Portugal and we quickly found that a fried egg accompanies many of the main dishes. The staff here was very helpful and wanting to please even though it was a small town of some 3100 persons.

Travelling in Northern Portugal and visiting Vila Nova de Foz Côa, a stop at "A Terrinca" will bring the opportunity of tasting the acclaimed Portuguese sweets (warm "Pastéis de Nata" are my favorites). Made out of sugar, eggs and lots of love, they'll make your day! A quick stop, an expresso coffee - strong and hot - and a few sweets (that you may share among your group avoiding guilty feelings). You are ready to visit the modern "Museu do Côa" and learn a bit about the presence of early men in the Iberian Peninsula. Bon Appétit!
