We came to have dinner in that two Michelin star restaurant with high expectations as we've eaten in Picola Lago 6 years ago and it was back then an unforgettable experience.
The restaurant is beautifully designed, the stuff is,friendly and professional. The problem is the food.
First - the menu ofers tasting menus (5, 8, or 11 courses) - without me tioning the dishes. Surprises are nice but as we are not eating red meet,it's hard to do a blind order.
So we went to a la cart. There they offer 6 different courses.
The election is very limited.
We had 4 dishes. All dishes were average or below, missing inspiration and missing flavored.
We had one desert ( out of 2 choices) which was tiny and not tasty.
Overall, major disappointment

Great food and wine in a traditional Italian restaurant with both indoor and outdoor (covered) Seating available. The food and service were both impeccable and didn't break the bank! The warm pistachio tart was a particular highlight and I can highly recommend it.

Tutto all'antica tranne l'arredamento della cucina che è invece ultra moderno e all'avanguardia. Cucina ad induzione perfettamente visibile dai clienti i quali hanno la possibilità di scegliere proprio un tavolo di fronte ad essa ed ammirare così l'operato dei nostri chef.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here with our Italian friends. Our friend is an award winning Italian chef and he chose this restaurant as its one of his favorites. The menu is varied with a lots of choices, all excellent. It is easy to get to by bus or car as its right on a main road but certainly not noisy. To star I had a bean and pasta soup and then the home made canneloni which were both wonderful. To finish I had an apple tart with ice cream which was absolutely melt in your mouth. Would definitely put this establishment on our regular visit list!

Very tastefull meals. Not a big selection but all were very happy with our choices. Lamb, duck and shrimp were just great. Elegant warm atmosphere. Friendly fast service. Not the cheapest place in the Verbania area, but very reasonable compared with Switzerland. Overall great dining experience.

This restaurant is tucked away in a lane far from the waterfront area. The atmosphere was very homely and cozy.
We ate dinner here twice during our trip.
The first time we ordered a linguini with sardines and dill (14euro), insalata mista for two (10 Euro), pizza with veggies (10 Euro). The pasta was delicious, pizza was thin crusted and tasty too.
The second time we ordered a minestrone soup which had beans and vegetables, but no pasta. It wasn't tart at all. Most minestrone soups that we have tried, always have been very tart. This preparation was hearty and very flavourful. For main course we had a beef steak and a swordfish with legumes. The beef was well done and tender and of very good quality. The Sicilian style swordfish was tender and not dry and was served with olives, tomatoes and potatoes. The chef is the owner of this place as well and personally took our order . She also serves the food too if it isn't too busy. We requested for a spicy sauce to accompany our food and voila the chef suggested that she could make a spicy tomato sauce for us to accompany the fish. It wasn't very spicy but was delicious. It was a sweet gesture as she made it specially for us. The portions were very good for all the dishes.
Overall a great restaurant for great home cooked food.

As a young couple who wanted to enjoy the beautiful lago di maggiore, but found most restaurants either expensive, or cheap with bad food.
Piada Cafe gives you an option for something different, with great atmosphere! The staff was cheerful and very nice, and the piadinas have a wide range of options. piadinas are similar to breads used in donner kebabs, with a large variety of fillers.
one thing to make sure - the menu says exactly what's in every piadina, no more, no less - so if you don't like dry dishes, make sure you order something with cheese which will melt in your hot piadina
all in all - highly recommended for lunch or dinner!

Eventhe dessert is carefully selected from the best recipes of traditional Piemontese pastry.
La Casera is a little restauant and shop of artisanal products of the region, the key of the recipes, is the simplicity, the colours and flavours of old tradition and the most authentic ingredients; plates with excellent ham, cheese of many sorts, salami, and excellent wines,

If you want to try a real US style steak house, try the Mad 'O Buffalo Steakhouse. What can I say, for meat lovers it is a must. Steaks are really really good, tender, juicy and tasty. Price is affordable and no "coperto" to be paid! Coffee is prepared using a special machine and you can tell is special (Italian style!). If I remember correctly it is closed on Sundays.
