Overall a great place. Japanese cuisine, by a true Japanese chef trained in the original Japanese sushi school. Can´t be defined ¨cheap¨, but the prices are more than acceptable for this kind of food. Very diverse menu, including matcha tea among the drinks!
Disadvantages: its located a bit out of the city centre, and the place is quite small, tends to get very crowded, so I recommend reserving a table.

This is a nice hotel and restaurant on the Bodensee. Wonderful location on the sea and adjacent to the Birnau monastery. The serve local foods and Birnau white wine from right outside their window. Especially nice in summer and is an out of the away quite place. If you like biking this is a great starting place. Rooms are nice and food that's local and original.

Had an amazing meal on the deck, the Rum Runner drinks are superb too. The service was fantastic. And when you get there they have free Valet parking if the lot if full. Can't say enough great things. The prices are not extraordinary either. They are reasonable for the local, view, service and food which are all excellent.

We were at Reck's with a group of 22 and we got a separate room for us. The service was attentive and the food was of very good quality. The room was very cosy, almoust like a private living room. We will go again!

Food was decent, better than the average food and restaurant on the Bodensee-we had large salads. we are not fans of the food in that part of the world! The service was OK- she was not the most pleasant person, and seemed bothered to serve...I asked for tap water- I did not want to pay for a bottle of water as I knew I was going to drink very little. She brought me a large bottle filled with tap water, which I ended up not touching, and they charged us 3 euros for it. When we protested, she said that was the rule of the house....We were pretty horrified...

We have have now visited twice, most recently last October. Going again next month, super cakes and biscuits with a good coffee and fantastic friendly service . Always a great choice of freshly made cakes to choose from.
Forget the diet and enjoy yourself everyone deserves a treat .

This was our second meal at the restaurant. We’d eaten there a year earlier with our family. This plus the fact they’ve been in business for 125 years speaks volumes! The staff is friendly and speaks a bit of English. Unlike many of the other restaurants in the area Storchen(Stork in English) has some menus in English for non-German readers. When we’ve been there the restaurant was full of locals.
On this visit we ate the following: Udlinger Filettopfchen, pork fillets, with mushroom sauce on home-made cheese Spätzle(amazing stocky noodle) and the pork back steak with pepper cream sauce on home-made Spätzle. Both dishes, the pork could be cut with a fork it was so tender and the Spätzle was amazing! We could certainly recommend both. From last year until this year we have not found a dish our family did not like! For Americans the ‘garden salad’ is a bit different. The plate comes loaded with a couple of varieties of lettuce; additionally there was a carrot salad, potato salad, radish salad, and a soured purple cabbage salad. All palate pleasers!
In July and August it is better to make a reservation as MANY locals eat in the restaurant. In the summer ask for the veranda Seating to enjoy the garden. They offer an extensive beer and wine menu including a number of local wines. Compared to restaurants in the highly touristic areas prices were quite reasonable. If you have children, Storchen is quite kid friendly with a corner of kid's toys to occupy the young customers and a children's buffet with kid friendly foods.
Yes, if we’re in the area, we will eat at Storchen again!
