Tournai is a charming small town near France that begs to be discovered. With more than 2,000 years of history, Tournai’s roots began as a market town (Tornacum) near the crossroads of a Roman road. Today, the sprawling municipality includes more than 1,000 kilometres of signposts, with guidance from “Rambling Cards,” allowing Tournai to be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback. Here an old chapel, there a castle or an old farm – there’s so much to see in Tournai that you’ll soon realize you’ve been exploring for hours. Must-see attractions include Notre Dame Cathedral in Tournai, The Belfry, Museum of Fine Arts, the Castle of Beloeil, and the Museum of Tapestry and Textile Arts.

Major find literally next door to the Cathedral in Tournai. Very intimate setting but not cramped or crowded inside. Excellent food and all made from scratch. They easily accomodated our being vegetarians by modifying meals. Meat eaters around us in the restaurant seemed equally pleased by their selections. Highly recommended.

The restaurant has an exotic menu. They have surprises food (for Belgium) like Kangaroo meat. They also have a lot of fish and seafood. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cosy and warm, the waiters are truly friendly and like to joke around with the customers. I really recommend this restaurant if you are near Tournai.

Family lunch here today. Savoury madeleine amuse-bouche. Excellent starters of tuna done three different ways. Beautifully cooked rouget with pissaladière. Cherry dessert with bavarois. Well-chosen wines to accompany each course... Good service in a classy setting.... Wonderful.

Since 1987, "El Greco" welcomes you in a warm setting, offering you enjoy Greek specialties, as well as taste the Greek wines selected with the greatest care to satisfy your taste buds. Discover our new space "Oenobar" whose etymology hints in the concept of a bar, above all, great tasting Greek wines, but also cocktails and champagne decorated with "pikilies" (tapas) full of Mediterranean flavors. An original and innovative offering you install both table along the bar or in our unusual vaulted cellar ... What's better than enjoying the Oenobar friends, colleagues or couple, "before" or "after" El Greco or just to spend a nice evening oenophorique!
We picked Le Greco from the list of places to eat in Tournai published on TripAdvisor, and were more than happy with our experience! Even though the restaurant is obviously a local hot spot and gets extremely busy by dinner time, the manager let us in without reservation, when we mentioned that we spent our honeymoon in Greece :) The food was amazing - our choice went for gambas for starter and grilled lamb chops for the main course - super delicious! Highly recommend this place to anyone on a short city break in Tournai.

From the outside the restaurant looks ordinary, but the food is superb modern Belgian. The presentation of the dishes and standard of service are excellent. Our waiter was friendly and we had the impression that nothing was too much trouble for the staff. My daughter does not eat meat, so the chef tweaked one of the dishes especially for her, even though it was part of a set menu. We paid just over 200 euros for 4 people including wine on a Sunday lunchtime, which I thought was very good value.

One of the best restaurants we experienced in three weeks of Europe. Great ambiance, marionettes hanging from ceiling. Food and service excellent. Prices surprisingly reasonable. Recommend the shrimp croquets. Escargot needed more garlic or something. A favorite with locals and we had a nice visit with the couple at the next table.

While traveling from Lyon to Westvletern, we looked for a reasonable stopping point and chose Tournai. The decision for restaurant was based on previous trip advisor reviews- we were not let down.
The location is around the corner from an open parking area- and is not in a obvious location; we walked a few minutes in circles before finding the entry.
Once inside, we walked upstairs and were greeted my the wife of the chef. Immediately, we were welcomed and our dining experience was one of the best one my recent trip to Europe.
The hostess/server made every effort to satisfy our needs. Gave wonderful recommendations and replaced a glass of wine which had a small fruit fly.
Part of the experience of any restaurant is the atmosphere and attention the staff pays to detail. All were met without hesitation.
I would definitely return and was glad we stopped and listened the to TA reviews of other.

The pizza in this place is so good that i went back and ordered another one to eat for breakfast! We ate out for convenience, but would definitely sit in and get stewed on red wine and pizza. Great friendly staff to chat with whilst i waited for take away.

Good atmosphere. Small but quite design. You need to like tapas if you go there. Meet plate is really good, sea food plate is correct.
