My wife and I had dinner at Samara’s with our son and his wife and we were delighted by the experience. Although very tightly packed the ambience was good and wait staff were excellent.
The food itself was terrific too: fresh, packed with flavour, wonderful sauces and condiments and tender meats. This is not a fine diner but nor is it a cafe, and so it had the right blend of style and taste.
It’s casual too, with some patrons in thongs and T-Shirts, and it’s fully BYO with cheap as chips corkage ($2.50pp!)
There is something on the menu to suits every taste and we will definitely go back...
We would recommend you make a booking, sit back and enjoy!

This place is very local for me and so against my better judgement, I've given it several more chances. I don't like this cafe. The staff are cold and borderline dismissive and the prices quite frankly are ridiculous. I'd rather drive a few more kilometres south and get a coffee from McDonald's. It's a shame because if the staff didn't act like they were doing you a favour by preparing a coffee you've paid for, I'd be here a couple of times a week at least. $8 for a Sandwich with literally one slice of round deli ham and one slice of Cheddar cheese is disgraceful.

Thirroul's best kept secret... Samuels Restaurant is a cosy, boutique restaurant serving Modern Australian cuisine. With carefully selected Australian wines to match cuisine, and friendly attentive service that never feels intrusive, Samuels Restaurant is the perfect place to relax and be taken care of. Having the option to start with fantastic original cocktails in Samuels Bar, or move straight to a luscious three-course meal, Samuels caters for anyone who appreciates the finer things in life.
The French waitress/manager was very pleasant. The service was good. The menu was sophisticated but the food however was only average and the portions were so small! The price was exorbitant. Entree $25.90 for 4 scallops. Really??? The main meals ranged from $42 to $49. Far too expensive for Thirroul of all places! Hard pressed to find a meal this expensive in Sydney. And, being Friday night, we had to choose two courses. How's that for maximising profits!! Gone are the days when restaurants serve minuscule minimalist 'art on a plate' meals. Someone needs to tell Samuels that. Suffice to say, I won't be returning. Value for money score out if 10 - ZERO! They are a little too greedy for my liking!!

Local cafe with beautiful views over the South side of Bulli Beach, NSW. Serving brekkie, lunch, dinner and drinks. Come dine in or take-away!
At the time of our visit, there were very heavy winds and only the brave ventured onto the exposed areas or the beach-facing veranda. The impression was that it was chaotic while being very busy. There is a self-ordering and collecting system (not my favourite!). Eventually we got a table for four. Although the food was fine - flathead or salmon fillet and chips, spinach/ pumpkin seed/feta and pine nut salad - the environment is just too noisy to be able to make yourself heard. The noise bounces off the walls. It's obviously a good place for families with kids, but not for adults wanting a quiet chat! The glasses and water bottles could do with a proper wash, and the plates have an unfortunate brown spot pattern, that makes the dishes look messy.

Dined here late 9pm Thursday, which was great.
Food still wonderful ordered lady in blanket, king prawn avocado penang, spicy beef rice and drinks for 2 about 45 dollars.
So food great but service not as great as normal on this night hence 4 stars. Maybe the waitress was new which is fine and won't stop us going back

Local Cozzie cafe providing Botero roasted coffee and Homemake cakes , chef quality food and a smile.
Stopped off at this cafe on the way home from Sydney. Customer service is excellent, coffee is good too. Had a double shot here which was spot on. Had the fish & chips which was lovely and saw the burgers which I will give a crack at next time. They looked good.

Royal Thai Woonona the most authentic Thai food in the Illawarra, cooked by our Thai chef and business owner with more then 25 years experience in the Thai food industry. Prices are very reasonable. My partner and I walked past this restaurant and were seated in the “fancier” looking Thai restaurant a few shops away. We looked around and didn’t feel very welcome or comfortable and got up and left before even ordering our food. We then decided to try Royal Thai and were welcomed immediately and made to feel comfortable. The food is incredible and the staff/owners are so lovely. They really put their heart and soul into each meal. We don’t live nearby but we will definitely be back!

We were there last Saturday night and couldn't believe how quiet it was. It made us a bit nervous about the food, but that was unfounded. The food was absolutely delicious, and the serving sizes were generous. We had soft shell crab, coconut prawns, black pepper prawns, chicken with cashews and chilli, and massaman beef.
Highly recommended.

Great views however disappointing gelato. Gelato is sickening sweet. Definitely not the same gelato found in Italy. Actually didn't finish it and ended up throwing it away. First gelato/ice cream I've ever purchased and thrown away. Mango bread isn't too great either.
