We ate here with 4 family members, having high expectations after Reading TripAdvisor reviews. Staff was friendly and explaining very well as we were not familiar with all items on the menu. Two of us ordered the Wiener Schnitzel and the other two ordered Hirsch and Almochse. There was quite a big difference in the amount of food on the plate and the quality of these meals. The Wiener Schnitzel was OK but not as tasteful as you would expect in this type of restaurant. The Almochse tasted very well but the amount of food was such that I was still hungry after finishing it. The Hirsch was somewhere in between the two other dishes. Due to a mistake in the kitchen these 3 different meals arrived at our desks at different points in time, causing the first one of us finishing only a few minutes after the last one started. Apologies were provided. For dessert three of us took the "Schokolade". The chocolate mousse was too soft and didn't have enough taste. Other items on the plate were very tasteful. Coffee was very good. Hot chocolate was OK but had a hair from a staff member on top of it (!). I got a new hot chocolate but no apologies were provided. In the back of the restaurant renovation actions were ongoing, causing all kinds of sounds you don't want to hear as you are eating. All in all value for money was poor: this was our most expensive dinner during our vacation (we had no wine) and quality of the food was average to very good. Did we have bad luck? Maybe, but on a next visit I will not come here again as better alternatives are available.

We have eaten many meals at Holzer's cozy restaurant. Excellent range of menu choices. He loves Mondays where dumplings are the featured item, and we both are enamored with the fresh salads. No visit ends without one of their pastries. OMG! The apricot strudel with fresh whipped cream is heaven on a plate. We've never had a less than delightful experience here.
Service is friendly and efficient.

Der Tröpolacherhof Hotel & Restaurant is located in the centre of Tröpolach, only 300 m from the Millennium Express Cable Car leading into the Nassfeld Ski Area. The Tröpolacherhof's restaurant serves traditional Carinthian cuisine.
We had lunch twice in this restaurant and it was really great. The Fritaten Suppe was excellent! The food was really Austrian. The service was excellent. Really reccomend.

When driving through Hermagor on our quest for a nice place to have dinner, we followed the signs "Schloss Lerchenhof". This "Schloss" turned out to be a beautiful historic Austrian villa, situated in a large garden with several outbuildings. Schloss Lerchenhof is a "Schlosshotel" as well as a restaurant with Austrian cuisine. In the garden, ample parking space is present. As the weather was balmy, we sat at one of the tables on the forecourt. To enhance the Austrian "Old World" experience, the waitresses wore typical Austrian dresses. Reviewing the meal: My appetizer consisted of five varieties of cured bacon, all home cured. The main course was sweet water trout. Of course, as the menu is Austrian, a "Wienerschnitzel" (with cranberry sauce) can be ordered. The meal was very satisfactory, only the prices are a shade higher than is usual in local Austrian restaurants. The service of the staff was dedicated and friendly. To be recommended. However, it transpired, that the hotel is frequented by motor cycle enthusiasts. It detracts from the soothing experience when the motor cycle club arrive at the hotel during the meal, because of the high level of decibels these arrivals produce.

We love this friendly restaurant. We've eaten here many times in the last 13 years and have enjoyed lots of different items from the big menu. Some portions are obscenely huge--the baked potato with bacon and cheese was so loaded I barely made a dent. The salmon dinner is also excellent, and their soups are terrific.
We've been seated inside and outside and each has its particular charm.
Definitely kid-friendly since there is a small playground and mini-golf course nearby.
I like everything about this place.

Four of us enjoyed local seafood at this cozy place in July. Service was attentive and polished, and the food was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. We had three different fish--all excellent-but the forelle (trout) was the best! We will definitely return.

At restaurant Senso e Vita a nice sit-down on the veranda is offered, overlooking the Weissensee. After a false start with the service, (the waiter who settled us down we never saw again and it took an almost Biblical amount of time to make our presence known to another member of the staff), but subsequently the service was OK and I chose unadventurous fare, (Carinthian cuisine still has secrets for me), cordon blue with fries. This dish was well prepared, using quality ingredients. However, Techendorf and Weissensee are definitively a touristy area. Therefore prices at Senso e Vita are a bit elevated. But nevertheless a well earned four point rating.
