We have both spent a lot of time throughout Thailand. This dinner was the best food since we visited there.
Prawns wrapped in Noodles
Krob Purses filled with minced shrimp & pork
Scallops skewers
Cold spring roll with sausage and vegetables
Duck with vegetables in brown curry
Pineapple Cashew Raisin Fried Rice(AMAZING)

Asked for a pick up to restaurant and they were more than happy to do this. We shared the starter of lamb shawarma. The lamb was beautiful and tender. The dish was delicious. Then we had the famous Guinness pie and the shredded brisket. So so tasty. Be warned though the portions are huge. We sat out the front for a drink before being taken home. The owner and partner were both so friendly and helpful. Fantastic food and lovely ambience. This Scottish couple loved the food and the hospitality. If in Taupo it’s a must.

A fantastic range of options beyond the standard egg and bacon options in this iconic Taupo cafe.
There is a range of muesli variants along with bagels and some other tasty treats.
The decor is based on the work of a famous NZ female photographer of the 60s.
Great coffee, great service, and an associated food and gift store.
An enjoyable breakfast a bit out of the ordinary.

salted Caramel ice cream was so salty it tasted like a cup of salt had
been added. would not recommend this dish at all.

We visited this Indian restaurant last night and we were delighted with the service, food and prices.
The welcome was first class with a genuine smile.
Service was very good and various courses were staggered with the correct time intervals between dishes.
Food was extremely delicious but the portions were huge.
All in an enjoyable meal with first class service.
We shall be returning patrons when next in Taupo.

Through trip advisor and also recommended by the motel we were staying in we went to Master of India on Saturday Night. Ordered Onion Bhaji, a vegetarian dish, and two lamb dishes, one being a vindaloo. Staff were nice but very busy. Onion Bhaji came out with mains rather than an entree. Vegetarian dish was good Aloo mutter (potatoes and peas in a sauce), however the vindaloo was poor. It was to be kiwi hot but had a bite however nothing to write home about, and the meat was chewy and dry. I did mention this to the waiter which he said he would pass to the chef. My husband had the lamb bhuna which the lamb still felt tough but was more pleasant to eat. Also he ordered a medium but it was the same heat as my kiwi hot (which was not hot). Not the best indian though not the worse. But what was most disappointing was the mango kulfi. It did not look like the promising picture in the website. It was very small and relatively tasty but they had swamped it with canned cream and sprinkles so eating hundreds and thousands was not what I had pictured. However in all a nice enough restaurant and as I said staff are good.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Martinborough. The place was open before 8am and we ordered a big breakfast to go with their sandwiches and coffee. The big breakfast was a big serving which we shared amongst ourselves. The weather being cool and nippy, we opted to stay out and eat all fresco. Good decision. Check this place out if you have the chance.

The cafe is Close to several Motels and we had the Impression that mainly locals come here for breakfast or a coffee. We enjoyed the food and have been here every day during our stay in Taupo.

Quick counter ordering. Ceaser salad on the small side poached egg over cooked and rubbery, chicken extremely small portion. Staff were friendly and efficent. Missed the mark on this occasion.
