My husband and I both love going here for breakfast and we make it our weekly couples date. They have amazing eggs Benedict (which I always order).. I even have mine on rye with bacon instead of ham, and it is delicious! My hubby varies his breakfast between the bacon and eggs and farmer sausage and eggs but he is never disappointed either. They know us and always have a minute to visit. Really good value for money and home cooked. This is a great little restaurant in the heart of Steinbach

Visited restaurant with family on Mother's Day. Appetizers we're good, main entree was just blah. Salads over priced. Vegetables were served cold. Chicken was dry. No one raved about their meals Someone in our party ordered breakfast - eggs and French toast because no one can mess up breakfast. I have had good meals (appetizers) and service in the lounge however only thing going for the restaurant are the staff Disappointed with this visit

After yoga class, a group of three of us decided to meet for a snack and dessert. What a great choice!
A few wings with a tossed salad followed by some warm decadent dessert, followed by an even better great priced bill it was cheers all round.
Service was excellent, our server was friendly and efficient.

We had lunch at MJ's Kafe last month while on a shopping trip to Steinbach. Three of our party of four had Vereneki (perogies stuffed with cottage cheese and smothered with a rich white cream sauce). These delicious morsels are served with either ham or farmer's sausage, both of which were quite goodl
-I, being the non-Mennonite of the group, ordered a hamburger steak, smothered in gravy and onions, and it was very good and very filling. The four of us had one slice of blueberry pie (with four forks) and this dessert was also very good.
The servings are large and the prices are very fair.
Serving staff were friendly and very knowledgeable.
Overall, an excellent road trip and lunch, and we took a couple very large butter tarts home with us, and they were excellent as well.

Main Bread and Butter is a locally owned cafe, deli and grocery store. Our cafe offers fresh sandwiches, homemade soups and a lunch pasta bar. Our grocery store includes a deli, fresh baked breads and a wide variety of groceries including locally made cheese, farmer sausage, pasta and much more. We also offer fresh produce as well as gluten free groceries. We are located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Steinbach.
We stop in here often to grab sandwiches for our picnic walks in Sandilands. They are made fresh to order with quality ingredients and not skimpy on meat. They also have a unique variety of locally made goods for sale in their grocery store which is now much larger a space then before. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The owners and staff of this restaurant are very nice, and the place is usually in good shape cleanliness-wise. Their dynamite roll is fantastic and their agedeshi tofu is the best I've ever had. Their lunch specials are especially good value, and I really enjoy going there for them. However, I think they put WAY too much mayonnaise on a lot of their rolls, and that really ruins a lot of their sushi for me.
Still, it's great to have a close-by place to go for Sushi and they can calm down a craving in a pinch :)

Doener Grill Express is a locally owned restaurant located in the heart of downtown Steinbach. Known for specialty desserts and tasty sandwiches Doener is one of Steinbach's favourite lunch and dinner restaurants. As customers walk in they will notice a warm and inviting atmosphere, a clean environment and friendly staff. The food touches on a variety of european styles while still remaining familiar and comforting. Choose to dine in or call ahead and order take out. Later in the evening is a perfect time to try the delicious homemade desserts or french crepes with a hot cup of coffee or specialty drink.
A good place to stop if you need a quick bite while in Steinbach. There isn't table service - you order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. I had the chicken doener with fries, which was very good, although I found the portions a little smaller than expected. Our table also had the schnitzel with spaetzle, which was good but definitely more fast food than homemade. The restaurant was clean and service was friendly. Overall a good meal if you're looking for something quick and don't want to do the McDonalds/Subway/etc. route. However, I would suggest somewhere else if you're looking for homemade food.

Great atmosphere, wonderful drinks, the freshest food in town. Pitas the size of your head, messy and delicious. The owner and his staff are so lovely

The coffee I had was delicious and smooth. I would highly recommend the americano. I met some family here and we all tried various drinks from blended lemonades to coffee and all the drinks were enjoyed. Great place to come and read or visit one-on-one or in a larger group. They also sell kitchen items and decor items but I would definitely come back for a coffee. It was excellent.
