After belonging to many empires over time (including Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and most recently Yugoslavian), Macedonia gained its independence in 1991, and Skopje, with about half a million people, is its largest city and capital. Despite its age, the city looks quite modern, owing to a massive 1963 earthquake that destroyed 75% of its buildings. Skopje has long been shared by Christians and Muslims, who still come together at the fascinating Old Bazaar, one of the Balkans' largest markets.

Kebab restaurant where the taste of the kebabs has remained the same as it was back in the time when you were children. Times change, but the quality, the tradition and the reputation of Destan remain the same.
The restaurant not too big but nicely decorated and eye catchy, the food was excellent, and the price was affordable. We tried the grilled meat and coffee, all was good. Recommended to have a meal if you are in the bazaar.Thank you very much for the beautiful words. We are expecting you again.

Here at Amigos we strive to provide our guests with happiness and joy through food, music and art. Our team is committed to using the finest ingredients in our recipes, making for an exceptional dining experience that satisfies grown-up tastes. No food nor drink leaves our kitchen or bar that we ourselves wouldn't enjoy.
I've been to Amigos several times and ordered through the Klikni Jadi app too. The food has always been good, well cooked and decent sized. They recently changed the menu, however, so I couldn't always have what I wanted (having removed some dishes that were available before), but overall I am happy with the food and service they provide. A bit on the pricey side, but they do serve foreign food, so that is sort of expected. I recommend the veggie Tampico, Corn fritters, Arugula (ruccola) salad, Tofu flautas and the Choco Frittas. I've only had veggie dishes, but I've heard good things about the meal served at Amigos as well. I'd say go with the waiter's recommendation - I've never ordered anything bad after counseling them. They are very pleasant! :)

The food is absolutely delicious prepared with spices specific to the Macedonian recipes. Portions were quite tremendous and our server had prior experience in the US industry, therefore, our requests were met in anticipation; we were very impressed to see that our bill for two persons was only Euro 19.57 which included the service tax of 18% but not the tip. We had an entree and a main course each in addition to the sparkling water and tea. Table was too small for the big plates brought to service. Excellent conversations with the staff, most of them speak English. We were also introduced by our server to the local history based on the displayed photos of the mats. Highly recommend this restaurant in such a modern E European city located within 2 min walking distance from the memorial of Mother Teresa.
Lunch at Pelister wasn’t as impressive as most reviewers would claim. We ordered pasta dishes, what we’ve got was watery and tasteless plates. Chocolate cake was incredibly sweet and heavy. Service just ok.

Opened by the married couple Zografski whose love story influences even more the positive atmosphere, professional surrounding and outstanding service. Although in the center of the city, Dukat’s intention is to provide cozy and relaxed atmosphere for all visitors to enjoy the traditional Macedonian specialties prepared according to old and unique home recipes from our grand-mothers. Italian restaurant Vodenica-Mulino is placed at the downtown of Skopje in Kapishtec. It was opened in 2003 and with it’s Gala Cuisine is recognizable place in Republic of Macedonia for all gastronomy lovers. Within Vodenica-Mulino restaurant facilities there are Wine Club and National Cellar, excellent place for celebrations and cocktail parties, as well as Conference Hall in capacity of one hundred and forty persons.
Started off with great service with helping us with wine selection and making us feel welcome. From there I think the nice waiter moved on to a different section and thereafter no attention at all. We had some nice starters and main courses, the starters were the highlights of what we ate. Main courses were average.

The location is almost perfect- only 500 meters away from the city center. At the same time the surrounding area is dingy - dusty roads and buildings under construction. The first impression of the restaurant is good - nice interior and exterior and traditional atmosphere. Unfortunately, the staff and the food ruin the good first impression. Our waiter, Vasil, was pushy and a little bit rude. He insist everyone on the table to make an order. I and my girlfriend arrived in the Old House half an hour after the other tablemates. We just started eating our salads, when Vasil insisted on ordering the second plates. Our table ordered total 5 different meals - all from the specialty of the restaurant. There are a little variety between the meals - everything was cooked in casseroles, some mushrooms instead of onions were the biggest differences for example. The meat was not fresh - it was a little bit stinky. The pleaskavitsa was not freshly prepared too. All and all I did not recommend the Old House.

A little tricky to find, but worth it. Really friendly staff, menu in English and a wide selection. We had a great bottle of Macedonian dry white wine. I had the Catalan chicken which was in a lovely sauce, ordered rice and French fries with it. My husband had salmon, which came as 2 big steaks of it, with potatoes. All nicely cooked, nice quiet location and great value at about £25 for our meal.

The one restaurant in Skopje, where you can eat Indian kinda food. Service was friendly and quick, although the meals were served in the same time, what caused some confusion and lack of place. Korma (Cauliflower, eggplant, zucchini, carrots and peppers stir-fried and boiled in creamy coconut sauce) was on the house, was really spicy and delicious. Nan was OK, not the best, but brought back some memories.
Masala was delicious also, Korma Murg was not the best.
Prices are OK (from 6 EUR), although little bit higher as we experienced in the region.
Free Wifi, card is accepted.
