We are in Nagoya for holiday for new year. The four of us visited Shirakawa and Takayama, we deliberately went to Seki as we knew there are lots of very nice restaurants in this area for unagi from the food documentary we watched. We found Magoroku which was open on the 2nd Jan. As we arrived, there were people waiting to be seated. The sumptuous char-grilled scent of unagi floats in the air. We stood around for half an hour and waited for the table. I keep peeping into the kitchen and try to get a glimpse of how they cook the eel.
We ordered 4 sets and some side dishes. It worth ever minutes of wait and finally the beautifully grilled unagi arrived, resting on a bed of rice. It was perfectly grilled, with the scent of charcoal. As you take a bite of the eel, you can hear and feel the cripsyness of the skin and tenderness of the flesh. It is the best unagi I have ever tasted in my life. It is also worth trying the fried eel dish, it definitely goes very well with beer.

I like eel. I've eaten many walking, Gifu, Aichi, Mie, in, here was the most delicious. The cook-to-order, and burn the eel. Therefore takes time. But, it is worth to eat even wait

Seki is famous for its sword making history and I was told recently by a swordsmith in Seki that there the unagi is made famous in this area as it is because many swordsmiths there used to eat unagi to regain energy after a long day of work, thereby making unagi in this area extremely well known across the nation in Japan.
Seki citizens are proud of their eel cuisine. After a long drive from Takayama, we searched on google and found Kakumaru to be open. We used the navigating system to the restaurant and thankfully it was open.
As a part of four we ordered 4 different types of unagi don to share. We also tried the raw unagi as well as the unagi liver. It was the most amazing experience as the premium don is layered with thick char-grilled unagi, it has a unique smokey taste and the sauce is also deliciously done without being too sweet or spicy.

Is impressive how an old and small town as Seki can be such a good point of the best levels of good international cuisine. Latin Agile help the city to keep this level in the highest standards to compares with any big city in the world. C'est très bien! Bon appétit!

白神の別店舗です。白神本店は海老そばをメインにしますがこちらはトンコツラーメンです。今回は一番ベーシックなラーメンを頂きました。若干食べやすくアレンジされていますがトンコツの旨味を十分感じさせてくれます。麺も本店とは異なり細麺です。本店かこちらか気分で使い分けすると良さそうです。

口コミでも評判はかなり高くいつも混んでいるが、小さな店なのに自販機で食券を買う必要があるから驚きます。スープがこってりと濃く何を食べてるのかわからないくらいで、冷めるとスープ油の膜が張るほどで、体に良くない濃さなので、二度とは行かない。

The very best home made tonkatsu ever!
You would think, how a restaurant can close on Sunday's? Yes they do! Because from Monday to Saturday they are so full that they deserve to rest a day per week. This is how everyone in the town loves Aki Katsu Tonkatsu! I will definitely suggest this restaurant in extremely high levels!

今回は子持ち鮎が大好きな主人のリクエストで10月の終わりに訪れました。
台風の後ということでヤナは水があふれ壊れてしまっていました。
小学生の子供たちがつかみ取りができる池にも水はなしでした。
子持ち鮎が苦手な私にはちょっと拷問。子持ち鮎大好きな主人は大喜びでした。
平日だしもうヤナも終わりのためガラガラでした。
