The old wooden and corrogated house in which the Dodo Bistro exists was built in 1927. Great atmosphere with lots of brick a brack.
We went as a large family group. I ordered the vegetable stir fry. It had no taste, the noodles were broken into tiny little pieces and far too much egg and not enough vegetables. I had to add tabasco to give it some flavour. I left most of it. My husband's steak was so tough he had to cut little pieces to be able to chew it. The rest of our party enjoyed their meals.

Bell and Anchor is a family run business. Situated on the beach front in Scottburgh the restaurant offers amazing views and safe parking. We pride ourselves in great service, fresh innovative well priced food. Pop in and give us a try. Great venue for weddings partys and conferences.
As we were down at the coast for our annual Holiday,at a self catering resort, the thought of collecting all the goodies for a Christmas Lunch, was a very daunting prospect. So we made some local inquiries to find out who served the best lunch in the area.We were told that the best was the Bell and Anchor.
We arrived to find a large restaurant, that was filling up fast, with a view of the sea. There were 7 of us ranging in age from 7-70+,and we set off to see the food on offer. We were really spoilt for choice, there were a multitude of fresh salads, cold meat and fish dishes,as well as soups, and fresh breads. For main course there was a turkey/chicken pie, which gave you all the lovely Turkey taste without the dryness, which often comes with it,as well as two other well cooked meats.Desserts ranged from traditional Christmas fare, to a range of other, delicious and fattening choices.
The Service was excellent considering the number of people, and the price at R350 was really good value, for the quality provided.
A visit to the restaurant is recommended, even if there is no Christmas pudding on offer.

We dined here twice during our week long stay in Scottburg. The atmosphere is warm and cosy and makes you feel right at home. The food was good and the staff was friendly. I can recommend the Scottburgh Special from the pizza menu for the meat lovers. We sat inside due to the cold weather but there is a deck outside from where you can see the ocean across the road. They have a few resident cats roaming the restaurant, fortunately they are well behaved.

This unassuming eaterie opposite Scottburgh railway station has been in existence for many years. It's proprietor is an Italian legend and at 80 years old, spritely and warm in his welcome!! It's very hard to choose from the menu as along with traditional Italian dishes cooked to perfection, the steaks and spare ribs are unmissable!!

Family meal out for some sea food and let found wanting...the service was attentive throughout. We ordered a combination of grilled fish and fried fish though it all came as fried...and then some of it was not really cooked properly either. Ordered some prawns which were tough and really not worth the effort of getting dirty fingers.
The highlights of the meal were the children's burgers from Bell and Anchor though there was no optional extras offered that you would get from the Bell and Anchor :-( The burgers were well cooked and delicious!
There are better establishments in the local vicinity offering much better fish dishes!

The beach bar has the best vibe of all we visited in Scottburgh.
We stopped for a late lunch and a drink and to watch some rugby.
We ordered a basket which we selected the following:
1. riblets - Amazing! 10/10
2. Chicken wings - very good 7/10
3. Crumbed mushrooms - Very good - 8/10
4. Fried calamari - good 7/10
5. Prawns - Amazing!! 10/10
6. Chips - tasteless..... 4/10
Service was excellent.
Not too pricey.
Sea view is a bit obscured by railway lines.
All over it was a great experience and I will definitely recommend it even if it is only for the ribs and prawns!

Stopped by with a group of friends. The meals included fried fish and chips (enjoyable), garlic roll (exceptional), greek salad (average) and rump steak flambed in brandy and pepper sauce (good). The view includes the sea but is not on the beach and the restaurant surrounds are tatty. The lunch meal was pleasant but not exceptional food.

Atlanta Spur Steak Ranch Scottburgh Shopping Mall in Durban, is a family friendly restaurant that serves the best ribs, burgers & steaks. Bring along your kids for some great tasting food & dessert from our famous Spur menu!
A Spur is a Spur, is a Spur. Well, not all of them match up to this steakhouse chain's acclaimed quality food at an affordable price. However, the Atlanta Spur in Scottburgh does not disappoint. Went there on Christmas Eve, and had a great experience....MoreDear john_mehliss, Thank you for taking the time to review our family restaurant. Great customer service and excellent food is our aim. We hope to see you again soon for another Spurrrific experience. Kind regards, Spur Family

Popular local restaurant and bar with great food, fantastic ambience, lovely music and fabulous sea view.
If its well prepared, value-for-money fare that you're after, this unassuming eaterie on Scottburgh's main street is the place to visit. Its open for breakfast and lunch (dinner on special occasions), and serves a wide variety of food - from toasted sandwiches and burgers to formal meals. Breakfasts start at under R20, and lunches under R40. A three course Sunday lunch costs R65 - where else can you eat for less? The place is licenced, and affords a sea view over the roof tops.

Had a good meal there just before Christmas. The fish was fresh, and up to the usual Ocean Basket standards. I had a sushi platter and was totally satisfied. Loys of bread accompagnied the customary sauces, and the staff were friendly and keen to oblige.I'll definitely go there again when next in Scottburgh.
