Charming probably pre-World War One restaurant in central Meran. The dining room is elegant with art nouveau touches and has well-separated tables, proper white linen table cloths and napkins and nice old cutlery. The large windows were open when we visited leaving the restaurant agreeably cool. The food was excellent, including the complimentary amuse-geueles of delicious 'liquid pizza'. We also really enjoyed the smoked mackerel and ravioli. Friendly efficient service from the multi-lingual wait-staff. Not cheap at €87.50 for two, but a very pleasant experience.

Visited twice, both times when they were cooking outdoors to order. Really friendly, good food, reasonable value, good location. All in all worth going, and worth returning. Probably our equal top restaurant location in Merano - from our trip at least!

The location is central, in walking distance (the entrance is at the end of the promenade). For cars, there is a safe and convenient parking next by in the courtyard. There are tables in and outside. Everything here was great. The service was great. The food was great (bruschetta, homemade gnocchi, thick homemade spaghetti). The wine was great. Where we sat was great. Like I said, everything was great. It was slightly pricey but very reasonable. You don’t get great for nothing. Plus, the city is great (better than Bressanone and a whole lot better than Bolzano). This is the shortest review I’ve ever written but what more can I say? It was great.

We ate here our first evening in Meran and were very pleased. There is good wine and beer and a nice area to sit outside. They not only do pizza and Italian standards but local specialties -- we started with an enormous plate of speck and sausage and cheese and then had a trio of dumplings (Knödel) -- spinach, cheese and speck ones. The service was good and friendly.

Hallo,
during a short break 2 weeks ago I went with some friends Merano. We visited inter alia the restaurant “Rametz”.
Not only the ambience was very appealing also the price performance ratio was excellent!
The menue and wine list is well chosen and clearly for everyone.
In my circle of friends there were no complains. All were satisfied to the utmost with the food.
Especially noteworthy was the service: friendly, attentive, courteous and unobtrusive, and very professional – particularly in advising food and beverage selection.
In a next stay in Merano I will definitely visit again restaurant “Rametz”.
This restaurant is especially recommended.
Many thanks for the pleasant hours !!!!

A sommelier will be available to assist you. Look forward to an extraordinary journey into the world of fine cuisine, and enjoy first-rate culinary pleasures.
We celebrate my father's 75th birthday at Trenkerstube Restaurant in Hotel Castel last May. The settings are very nice and the staff is very professional. Food was excellent and everyone in our party was pleased from start to finish. They were very attentive to every detail and made sure my family had a wonderful and unforgettable experience in Tirolo.

We went to this restaurant with my husband's elderly parents and they were delighted. There were also many young people eating there. The food was presented so well and originally and tasted fantastic. They bake fresh bread samples that they supply with the meals, and we had a salad and little entre taster as a " gift from the kitchen"! The staff were very attentive and friendly. It was not cheap, but also not outrageously expensive. Quite a homely atmosphere where you can feel pretty comfortable.

The centuries-old but well preserved Thurnerhof is situated a bit outside the centre of Scena and surrounded by old chestnut and walnut trees. According to their motto “delicious and simple“ the Tammerle family combine tradition with innovation and old recipes with new knowledge. Old South Tyrolean dishes are still prepared over the open fire in the heart of the restaurant, in the originally preserved smoke kitchen from the 15th century.
Very popular local spot with super South Tyrolean food. We ate in a medical kitchen with 2 tables beside a log fire. Very rustic, cosy and romantic. The food was over priced, but the atmosphere made up for this.

We ended up here a bit unprepared, after a whole day driving through the mountain passes. We simply stumbled into a special evening, which is probably even better, because of the surprise factor.
What blew our minds is the view from the Terrace. Absolutely unique in every way.
Even more stunning was the fact that their menu and their culinary skills were matching the view!
...and on top, this is a family owned business - one brother is looking after the guests and the other is cooking. Both of them are highly likable, professional and intelligent personalities.
No matter how you look at it, this place is a hidden gem!
