We spent several days in Saranda in March 2017 and generally found that the recommended restaurants had very limited menus. Luckily, we found the Bar Restaurant Aragosta by chance and were so impressed that we visited most evenings for the remainder of our visit.
The restaurant is a 15 minute stroll from the southern end of the the embankment (uphill on the way there but downhill on the way back!). Alternatively you can catch the Saranda to Butrint bus and get off at the second stop.
We were made very welcome by Sava who provided excellent service and suggested local food that she thought we would enjoy. The overall standard of the meals was absolutely first class and the prices were very affordable.
We visited during the low season when there were few tourists around but were still made welcome and provided with excellent service in all respects.
Would we use this restaurant again? YES - without doubt.
Would we recommend this restaurant? YES - do give it a try; we are sure you will enjoy it.

Very popular waterfront place still open mid-October (many others weren't), and we had lovely 'local' meat dishes first time, and a dreary pizza/pasta second time. Local wine good tho'

This Restaurant offers besides a very good service, probably the best food served in Saranda. We tried several Restaurants during our 2 weeks stay in Saranda, and Mare Nostrum was the best we tried. Food was presented in the best possible way and it tasted great. We can highly recommend this Restaurant, but be aware that you need to reserve a table.

Asked what they recommended and was invited to the kitchen to choose our food. Ended up with grilled fish, grilled shrimps, tzaziki, grilled feta cheese and grilled veggies. Everything arrived at the same time, served by the youngsters of the family. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed this place. The food i including wine and a big bottle
Of water ended up around 30-35 euros. Good value for your money! Only improvement suggestions would be to have some tables outside as well. Or maybe to open up the restaurant and pull the curtains aside.

Dinner was excellent and the service perfect. Location is suitable for couples with a sea view. Sea pasta (linguine and paccheri) and meat steak have been really appreciated by the group. The price is a little higher in respect to other Saranda restaurants, but the quality is higher too.

The Restaurant is located in the centre of Saranda, on the beach front. Food was ok, but highly overpriced, a tourist trap, some would say. The food was actually ok(the reason for my 2 "stars"),but the price was almost three times a high as other, and better Restaurants in Saranda. The waiter only recommended food not printed on the menu, and for some reason the price for these recommended dishes was higher than anything on the menu. So if you want to eat here, don't listen to the waiters recommendations, just order something from the menu. Or better yet, find another Restaurant.

Fast service, delicious food and very reasonable prices!
We enjoyed our lunch there, it was very good and even though the restaurant is located in the beach Promenade, the prices are low.
Nopea palvelu ja todella hyvää ruokaa! Hinnat edulliset, paikallisia paljon.
Hinnat ovat kohdillaan, vaikka ravintola onkin rantapromenadilla. Suosittelen!

We traveled in March and many of the places on the Albanian coast are closed during the off season. LaYo's was open for lunch with several locals eating lunch and not just drinking coffee. Our waiter served us promptly and helped out recommending great dishes. We shared a fresh Sea Bass that was cooked to perfection along with a spectacular roasted pepper plate.
We are very happy we stopped here for lunch on the way to Butrint.
