Santa Rosa de Calamuchita is a small village in the province of Córdoba, Argentina. It had about 10,000 inhabitants at the 2001 census [INDEC]. The village is located in the center of the Calamuchita Valley, in the middle of a landscape that includes hills (the Sierras) as well as rivers and lakes; the area is a major tourist attraction. Other important nearby towns in the Valley are Villa General Belgrano and Embalse (the latter is home to a nuclear power plant).

In the heart of the village this traditional Argentine parilla serves up wonderful grilled meats, pastas, salads and more. I ordered the bife de lomo---filet mignon---which was perfectly cooked and large enough for two. My partner chose chicken supreme which was three breaded chicken breasts. With a side order of papas fritas---French fries---and the generous bread basket this was more than enough for dinner for two. The service was friendly, efficient and fast. The atmosphere is genuine Argentine. Prices are modest for the size of the portions and with a small bottle of wine, a pitcher of lemonade, our bill was just under US$40 in total. It was the perfect place for our first vacation dinner in Calamuchita.

This wonderful gourmet restaurant is located right on the riverbanks with a great view and romantic atmosphere. The food is individually prepared and fresh fish is the daily speciality. But they also have many other entrees to choose from. The service is friendly and comfortably paced to enjoy a leisurely meal. Prices are a little above average but well worth the extra for excellent gourmet dining. This maybe one of the best meals you will enjoy in Santa Rosa de Calamuchita.

Good cuisine but overpriced bearing in mind it is a cash only operation. Wines are a little overpriced, especially those of nearby vineyards where the quality leaves a lot to be desired.
Reservations essential as there are few tables inside.
It is not as good as it was. It needs to reduce prices.

This wonderful Argentine Parilla is full of charm and good food. The large outdoor patio includes a large parilla, stage for entertainment, dance floor and many dining tables. Inside the smaller dining rooms are loaded with old world charm and antiques. The menu is extensive with meats cooked on the parilla, pastas, salads, local speciality dishes, and of course desserts. The portions are very generous and the cooking is perfect. The staff provide friendly and fast service and the prices are very reasonable. We selected two pasta dishes, cannelloni and lamb ravioli. Each was delicious home made pasta with excellent fillings and cooked to perfection. This is highly recommended for dinner but the kitchen does not open until 9PM. Enjoy some great local food and atmosphere here.

Restaurante solo de pastas, donde Usted puede disfrutar de nuestro servicio, con elaboracion a la vista pudiendo ademas, llevar nuestras pastas caseras crudas o cocidas a su hogar.
If you feel like Italian this is a good place. Their pastas are cooked on the spot or you can buy them fresh and cook them yourself at home. Don't expect gourmet wines but table wines that go well with pasta. In fact if you mix the wine with soda you'll enjoy it even more. No credit or debit cards as it seems practice in many restaurants around Santa Rosa. I had ravioli cooked to perfection and my friend had multicoloured gnocchi. Both excellent. The place could do with softer lighting and some air con but it wasn't too bad.

It's a place with no frills so don't expect silver service. Very popular with the locals Seating extends to the pavement where people can smoke. I'd recommend having pizza with beer as their wine list offers a few vin de table.
The pizza dough is light and toppings excellent.
Their gas fired oven is massive. Just sit somewhere where you can watch the proceedings. If it's pizza you want this is the place

I am a rabas fan and theirs was very good. My husband had the menu of the day and enjoyed it also. The menu of the day is a large meal of delicious food at a very reasonable price; a real bargain. Since we live close, we will definitely go there again.

This large café on the main street of Santa Rosa de Calamuchita offers great food and beverages at very reasonable prices. Breakfasts offer a choice of pastries, toasts or cooked meals. Lunches and dinner provide pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and salads with generous portions and a low cost. They also offer a variety of Picadas---a local platter of cheeses, cold cuts, and breads---to accompany afternoon beverages or a lighter appetite. Highly recommended for everyday dining. Note that the kitchen does not open until about 8:30PM for dinners.
