We are a family . Our philosophy is the highest quality products available from the Agricultural farm and the surrounding region to sell and promote . Uniquely our char caviar we sell of course from the farm in our restaurant and in the best factories in Europe. Benefit from original manufacture family Sicher
Never, ever would you find this magic restaurant by accident! You would not even find the village Tainach (some 20km east of Klagenfurt) and even there the restaurant is well hidden. But as soon as you arrive at the parking area you will understand that this must be a special place. Cars from all over Austria and neighboring countries, normal cars and truly posh cars – so why are they all here?
For decades connoisseurs agree that this is presumably the best fish restaurant in Carinthia. The place is run by the two Sicher brothers, Michael who is the genius in the kitchen and Wolfgang who is responsible for the perfect service and the well composed wine list.
The Sichers have their own fish farm where they breed trout and char, so you can be sure that the fish on your plate still had a pleasant swim a few hours before you came!
Michael uses these fresh fish, small local river crayfish, herbs from their own garden and vegetables and other products from organic farms in the neighborhood. And of course the famous Sicher Caviar, a char caviar which is so exquisite that it recently received the “Coq d´Or” award from Le Gouide de Gourmands in Paris.
Tonight I went there on my own for no special reason – just to enjoy a good fish and a perfect dinner! I started with a clear fish soup with pieces of fish and crayfish, flavored with fresh coriander. A culinary sensation! As main course I decided this time not to eat any of the magnificent fish creations but simply a pan fried char with garlic and parsley potatoes. Cooked to perfection of course. I ended the meal with sherbet variations – three homemade sherbets (cassis, peach and passion fruit) – one better than the other.
A team of pleasant, friendly and efficient waitresses took perfectly care of me although all tables in the garden were occupied. The only downside was that I could only drink to small glasses of an excellent Pinot Blanc from the neighboring Austrian state of Styria because I had to drive back home.

The restaurant attached to the Loving Hut Pension at the Klopeiner See is absolutley delicious. It is part of the Loving Hut chain and so has similarities to other Huts. This one is particularly tasty. The food tastes good across the range - the burgers and fries are perfectly reasonable, the starters are uniformly enjoyable including the fried tofu which seems to be a bit harder to get right but these guys do.
The main meals are excellent. The asian specialties are good. The various Meins are nice and the one this reviewer found a little bland seemed to go down extremely well with some fussy customers on the next table. The Kung Pao is absolutely terrific and is well worth a try. The schnitzel meal is very well crafted, excellent fresh potato salad combined with appropriately crunchy and properly flavoured breaded soya.
It is remarkable that Austria can support vegan eateries but it was noticeable that the patrons were not all hotel guests. The food is really excellent and for those who don't have vegan/vegetarian preferences, it seems to come as a very pleasant surprise.
Part of the appeal to this particular restaurant may be the garden. It is a pleasurable experience to sit outside and there are many passers-by who stop to take in the various animal constructions.
It seems that there are some additional regular visitors in the form of birds. These regulars do a lot of the cleaning up from the floor which is a highly efficient way of doing business and also adds a nice touch to see little birds hoping around.
The restaurant also has a slide and a sand pit for kids. It is a great place to eat for a family.

Alter Gasthof ganz neu! Fazit: Auf jeden Fall ausprobieren!

During our cycling through Austria, we encountered at place called Mochoritsch. There is a lot of parking space for engine vehicles and other means of transportation.
We were sitting outside, where you can find large wooden tables with benches. There is also enough shade if you catch a pretty sunny day. Staff is really polite and they were prompt with our orders. We decided that lunch menu is the best way to go. Beef soup was great and a lot of it. Continued with main course such as famous pork Wiener schnitzel and something different untypical for the region, wok dish with chicken stirpes and vegetables. Wiener was really big and just about the right thickness. Wok was also really nice with great sauce. With menu there is also salad and desert which you can choose from different varieties such as cake, pudding, apelstrudel, topfen strudel etc.
Toilets are clean and big enough to accept a decent amount of the guests.
All in all it was a very pleasant experience. Recommended.

Nice walk path, even if you are runner, it is better to run and or join klopeiner see run (5k or 10k race in August). On the south side there is a place for relaxing and sitting out of the full area (and possible to swim out of the paid places)
