Excellent birthday diner with a just as excellent view of the sunset over the Baie de St.Brieux and the Cap de Frehel lighthouse. Very hospitable and cosy, with an effort to use local ingredients to create local dishes. Definitely well above the run-of-the-mill.

What an incredible restaurant. We have been here a few times now and are always welcomed, especially good with our dog! The service is impeccable and the food is even better. Amazing local seafood with the menu changing daily. The food is prepared with such style just looking at it is worth the visit. The eating of it is even better. Prices are average and well worth it. Eat here, you will not regret it!

This little restaurant was on the way to the supermarket and was a chance find around lunchtime. The 'A' board outside caught our eye as it advertised a starter, plate de jour, dessert, wine and coffee for just 11 euros! We were not disappointed, a self service buffet for the starter, a good main dish, followed up with a cheese course, the dessert and then coffee, not to mention the free 75cl bottle of wine with the meal all for e11. Truly excellent value!
So good we returned the next day to do lunch again, this time we were offered and accepted a second helping of the main dish, roast beef!! If only we had places like this in the UK. Thoroughly recommend a visit!

Nice space in contemporary colours , with an upstairs mezzanine, facing across to the beach.
We opted for the Coquilles st Jaques, then skate wing and a brochette of three fish. Excellent cooking of fresh fish, including monk fish. - Overall a good experience with efficient service.
Later we had takeaway salads, super selection with fish, prawns and duck, and probably the best salads we have had.

Perfectly situated to capture us after seeing Fort La Latte this cafe was delightful. Quick friendly service, very enjoyable meals and a nice sunny Terrace made for a great visit.

Since my original 5 star review, I've been back 3 times and each time has been better than the last. Martine has refreshed the outdoor Terrace with new furniture and has broadened the range of specials. The service remains outstanding and the cuisine tres bonne.

I believe it the best gastronomic restaurant in the area, it is a bit pricey but worth the experience. Nice rustic deco, very welcoming staff, some speak English. Food is amazing: all seafood is very fresh and they use interesting ingredients, so if you looking for gastronomic experience, this is the place. Great choice of wines.

Our family has been coming to St Cast for 20 years and have always spent some time here given our sweet teeth. The cafe is located right on the main square of St Cast just on the main pedestrian walk so it is ideal for people watching. A constant stream of people promenades in front of it during the late afternoon and evening hours.
The ice cream and pastries have always been delicious. The service used to be rather condescending, both to foreigners and to the French, but a change in management has revitalized the atmosphere. There is a younger, more attentive group of waiters and waitresses and the experience is a lot more pleasant.
Definitely recommend for a sunny late afternoon in St Cast.

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant at nearly closing time on a Sunday afternoon. I asked if it were too late to be served, and the waitress said of course not! What we ended up eating was a culinary delight beyond expectations. Every course was an adventure. We could hardly choose between the items, and so selected two different things to share. When it came to dessert, our server told us that the strawberries were phenomenal -- they were -- and so we doubled up on desserts. It was hard to say goodbye at the end of the meal. We return to western France next year with friends, and Le Cap is definitely on our list of must-do-again!

We had been given a recommendation of this place and we were not disappointed.
The ravioli starter was extremely good. The gambas delicious. The thai moules plentiful although small. The oysters very fresh and slid down easily. The foie gras de canard served with a spiced bread but again excellent.
Mixed grill with pepper sauce was enjoyed but the scallops needed a little more moisture or sauce to accompany them particularly as they were served with dry rice. It would have made a big difference to the meal. They were though, cooked perfectly.
Chocolate fondant needed a lot more creme anglaise to accompany it as only one small spoon full was nowhere near enough (see photos) but otherwise excellent.
Great summer evening visit to this great place. Would we go again..............in a heartbeat!
