OK the food is very good. French kitchen with Saarland influence.
The service was very good, very friendly.
But this attitude of the 'best french restaurant', is that really necessary ? Not everyone wants a 3 course dinner late in the evening. Don't frown if someone only wants soup and a coffee.
And really, it's not more than the living room of the house. Not much atmosphere. I suppose in a french restaurant, you can't have German gemütlichkeit...

We had lunch in this restaurant on our weekend visit to SaarLouis and had chose it because of the rating on Tripadvisor. The interior is ok, the food nice, the service fast and friendly and it is quite cheap especially considering the portions you get. There is nothing negative to be said about it, however I will not give it 5 out of 5 because it is not refined in any way...nice food but nothing special at all...if you just fancy lunch, go for it, but don't go there if you fancy a lovely dinner on a special occasion.

This is a review of “Mamma Mia’s” phone order delivery; I haven’t been inside the restaurant. This Italian place delivers roughly in a 15 mile radius around Roden, a suburb of Saarlouis; orders over Euro 15 are delivered free. The food arrived around the time it was promised, surprisingly hot and pleasantly packaged. The portions were huge, taste was excellent, especially the noodle dishes. I recommend trying the “Pasticciatta al Forno”, three types of pasta in a cream, egg, tomato Bolognese. Delish! Prices are very moderate, and a bottle of (drinkable) Chianti was delivered for ten Euros. Recommended. The next time I will try the restaurant.

We entered without reservation. All was full but we were told we could wait outside on the terras for 5mins since some people were about to pay. The owner came out with us to quickly put together table and chairs (September so terras wasnt actually there) , the owner brought our drinks straight away and even offered us a welcome cigarette...
After a few mins some table freed up and we were explained how it works with the large skewer they gave us. In the middle of the table a gas grill was lit for us to bake our own meat.
Vegetable buffet was fine, there was enough choice, there were about 10 different kinds of meat to choose from which were nicely marinated and tender.
The only pity was that the meat got some funny taste from the fumes generated by the dripping fat (and that from the people before us) on the fake coals above the fire. My colleague mentioned exactly the same afterwards so i wasnt imagining...
All in all a nice place, great concept, very friendly people just a pity that the finishing touch was missing.

This restaurants ratings are way too high. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice, however the food and service were just ok. My husband, my daughter and myself ordered a meal for two (appetizers, salads, meat, etc.) The salads were good, the lamb was cooked very nicely, however the gyro meat was substandard and very dry. We were given Ouzo upon ordering and would have preferred not to have it b/c we were having a glass of wine with our meal and not trying to get drunk. After the meal they gave us some fruity liquor which we also did not drink. The meal was expensive and the food did not meet our expectations. However, the ambiance was very nice. Perhaps, ordering an individual portion of something instead of a "sharer platter" would have been a better choice on our part.

Historical place, good looking interior and rated among the best in SaarLouis on every website you look.
Now the food is good. It is Italian, but not pure Italian, there are some German - French influences there. It's not bad.
The personnel is friendly, that's not the problem, but it is like their fame dictates a certain attitude, a having to act like a bad French waiter. The use of French words, mixed in with the German.
It could be very good, but somehow it feels wrong.

I think overall it's an ok place to have sushi, although it's not Chinese but actually Japanese cuisine. The buffet style makes it attractive, so that you could take as much as possible. However, there are quite a few other alternatives in the area as well (with even cheaper price), and the quality of the food is just ordinary instead of great. If you want some sushi buffet, it's recommended; if you want some really good Japanese food, somewhere else should be considered :)
