We visited the Landgate last night for dinner. This is our second visit and we were not disappointed. The food is excellent, flavoursome and well presented. You can tell that the chef takes enormous pride in his food and this shows. The service compliments the food and is efficient and friendly. To get food and service right is something not many restaurants mange. but they do here. If you are in Rye this is the place to eat.

Antica Osteria Toscana - The Tuscan Kitchen is a family run osteria where you can taste all the flavours of food and and wine of the Tuscan region. Home to Florentine chef Franco, authentic and true to the Tuscan tradition you are transported to the backstreets of Florence and Siena. As in an historic Tuscan Osteria the atmosphere is convivial. The style is is rustic and simple "Arte Povera" with only 11 tables ensuring an intimate atmosphere with conviviality and enjoyment of eating drinking together.
Visited the Tuscan Kitchen for a special birthday dinner in the lull between Christmas and the New Year and it did not disappoint. The food, from an eclectic menu, was superb, service was first class and the atmosphere authentic and welcoming. We enjoyed the informal ambience and it was no surprise the restaurant was full. Clearly, this place is a labour of love for its owners. Well done, it is superb in every respect,

Excellent lunch of scallops to start (it was Rye scallop week) followed by catch of the day, roast beef, and roast chicken. Accompanied by a very good NZ Kim Crawford Pinot Noir. Followed by raspberry mousse and coffee.
Excellent food and wine and very friendly service. Would highly recommend.

We are an art gallery and tea room specialising in local artists and local food. We are on the edge of the Rye Harbour nature reserve, which is a fantastic spot for walking and birding, with a long shingle beach and masses of pools and hides. We have an excellent range of original prints, photographs, textiles, ceramics and 3D pieces often on wildlife/landscape themes, along with a great range of local foods. We make all our own cakes and scones and are proud to serve award-winning Sussex cheeses, locally-sourced smoked mackerel and wonderful fruit juice from orchards nearby. In summer we also have fresh dressed crab and hand-raised pork pies, which we make ourselves on the premises, using pork from local farms.
This good tea room is situated in Rye harbour and doubles up as a gallery promoting local artist. Great place to either relax, browse or buy. Staff very friendly and accommodating, good food, coffee and cakes. Recommended visit when in the area.

A favourite place for tea/coffee and cake in Rye. Breakfasts too. Friendly and efficient service. Clear from hearing conversations that they have regulars for breakfasts/morning coffee so that's a great sign. Any place that is popular with locals is often the best.

This restaurant is perfect in every way. Great location and amazing history, attentive staff - hilarious waitress called Alicia, gorgeous food- chicken broth with cheese and chive scone so delicious and a really varied menu. Would advise booking as it does get busy. Every time I visit I'm always looked after at fletchers, thank you guys you deserve to be number one in Rye

Obviously a very popular place with all tables full and other customers being turned away but was a very mediocre experience. Very little spice involved, my lamb curry was more like a lamb casserole despite been described as medium hot. Basically it's an Indian restaurant for people who don't like curry.

The Plough is a quintessential English country pub with stunning views from our pond side garden over the Brede Valley with the sea as a backdrop. Situated on the Kent and East Sussex border and less than two miles from the medieval town of Rye, we enjoy a fantastic larder of local produce, from the freshest of fish landed in Rye and Hastings every day, to the wonderful delights from the Romney Marsh such as lamb and beef as well as the best of seasonal vegetables. With all this on our doorstep, we offer a good choice of local beers, ciders, wines and freshly prepared food, from our tapas, to our original choice of freshly prepared dishes and our homemade ice creams.
Very friendly service and good relaxed atmosphere, but the food really wasn't impressive. The 'tapas' weren't too generous - one included just two small scallops - and lacked authenticity: 'patatas bravas' was mostly pulpy tomatoes. Short but not bad wine-list.

I am not a fan of fast food, but twice a year I let myself get spoilt. I loved cod, it was fresh and melting in my mouth. Chips were very good too. We were not a fan of deep fried scallops, but at least we tried it and now we know. Overall we Enjoyed the guilty pleasure :-)
