Amongst many ordinary tourist restaurants in St Raphael this one stands out above the rest. Tucked away behind the station it has real character and local atmosphere. Very friendly host and an individual décor. The menu is short but has enough variety to suit most tastes although probably not for kids. Food quality is good but not gastronomic and portion sizes are very big. Certainly worth a visit.

Menara is a Moroccan restaurant, open for lunch Thursday , Friday , Saturday and Sunday . In the evening we welcome you from Tuesday to Saturday from 19:30 . We serve couscous and tagines prepared in the purest Moroccan tradition. We can prepare your take-out order , half day in advance. Reservation highly recommended.
I have been delayed writing this review as my husband and I were here in August 2015, on returning home we had a family bereavement, and I forgot to write a review but this wonderful friendly restaurant deserves to be shared with others. We loved it so much at this hidden gem of a restaurant at the side of the Basilica that I felt I must still write about our experience. We were unlucky on our first visit as we arrived without booking and it was full. We booked in advance for the following week, but were unable to sit in the garden area. On arrival our wonderful hostess and chef brought a table just for us two outside the restaurant at the side of the Basilica and it was a wonderful gesture, and so romantic! Our tagines were the best we have tasted and we come from London where there is so much choice and the red wine recommended by the chef's husband was an excellent choice. The hospitatility shown to us by our hosts was wonderful and they made us feel so welcome. If we are back this way again in August we will book in advance next time. As you stand in front of the Basilica, La Manara is to the left of the Basilica down the small alley way.

Dans un cadre calme et reposant,a deux metres des bateaux, venez decouvrir notre cuisine traditionnelle et creative...
A wonderful setting, friendly staff including a delightful restaurant dog that was good to our dog, plus great food---can't ask for more!! We will return often!
My mushroom ravioli was only 16 euros, my husband's seafood risotto, while a bit more, was delicious. The house wine, served in various carafe sizes, is excellent. Friendly, good prices, beautiful beside the water/boats, makes for a wonderful meal!

With only 24 covers and the chef/patron's wife serving, the food is superb and great value for money.
A limited menu, which is a good sign, and lunch for only 22Eu this restaurant is what Bib Gourmand is about.
If you enjoy good food beautifully presented without the normal Michelin formality then make sure you try this fantastic little restaurant.

Détendez vous l'équipe de la table fait le reste.
This place is down a side street. I booked by phone from the UK. We elected to eat outside owing to the hot weather and not at THE table indoors. We had excellent meals
My wife took a tender, well-cooked duck and i had a daurade risotto. It was creamy and the fish was cooked superbly. The staff were cheerful and efficient. Recommended unhesitatingly

Philippe Daujam, passionate farmers cheese, is a former master of the luxury hotel catering. In his shop, it offers a range of over 200 references of cheeses from raw milk, artisan, farmers and skillfully selected except that we also have the pleasure of eating there. It also offers regional grocery products foie gras, local wines, jams, organic spice bread, tapenade and olives Cailletier, Olive Oils, Salami Iberian ... In its original concept, you offers food throughout the cheese base year and also suggests a formula appetizer "the drink-Fro" during the summer evenings.
As we wondered the street of Frejus in a hot summer day, a little past lunch time, we saw this small but charming place and decided to give it a try. We were not very hungry so le menu du jour, a very good combination of cheeses, salad and delicious french bread, was perfect for us. We had some of the very good local rose wine they recommended. Every plate is prepared by the owner just behind the cheese counter in the shop and only one waitress serves all the tables, about 8 in total because it is a small and cozy place. A very friendly ambience, quiet and peaceful...we highly recommend it. Good quality at a reasonable price.

This charming restaurant owned by brothers Sebastian and Christophe is right off the main square where the Cathedral and museum are located, on a little side street with its own pleasant square.
First, Chris brought us a complimentary tapenade appetizer, followed by our order of the "petits farcis provençaux," a delicious ground meat served on vegetable rounds (red pepper, cucumber, tomato, etc.). My husband had the leg of lamb and I had pork with curry sauce and coconut milk for our main courses. Everything was well-prepared, attractively presented, and just absolutely delicious! We took a leap and shared an order of "marquise au chocolat" for dessert (a chocolate risk is usually worthwhile for me!). Slabs of dark chocolate with Chantilly were served on a creamy sauce that I can't name--but I don't regret the choice!
While I enjoyed all the restaurants we tried on the main square, this was my absolute favorite and I will definitely return when I'm in Fréjus again!

Once more, excellent service and food, and still a great setting. A little expensive but you do get what you pay for, my favourite being fresh dorade.

Just arrived in St raphael Area on a Monday and headed for the port.
First Restaurant we came across and while everywhere else was quiet le Coelacanthe was humming. While not fine dining was good food at a good price and a pleasant experience. Worth a stop in if you're in the area. Might need a reservation as we were made feel lucky to get a place without one - even on a Monday in June.

Our original choice of restaurant was closed, their loss, our gain! Our waitress was delightful and spoke amazing English (again, to our shame) the restaurant is an amazing use of space. I had veal dish of the day, husband had razor clams in snail butter, black Angus steak & a fruit pancake. Hadn't noticed it was the #1 on tripadvisor, can see why!
